Step 1…Know the size of your toilet tank ring at the bottom. They usually come in 2” and 3”. Step 2…Be sure to turn off the incoming water so that it won't get on the floor etc. Step 3…Make sure the tank is empty before you begin replacing the previous one. Step 4….Follow the directions on the box. They are simple and easy to understand. I got this one because the previous one I ordered was too large. Walmart is really great about returns. They let me keep the one I ordered wrong the 3” one. I had the option of sending to my card I used or to Walmart pay. I will try to come back and write more once I install it. My ADHD kicks in at the most inconvenient times.
This flush valve is worth the money, easy installation. A good quality and no more running up the waterbill.
easy to install
fixed the problem
It is universal repair item for my toilet. Easy to install and works great.
This is a basic version that I found on clearance. I prefer the kind that are "Max" with one brand and "2 x Lasting" with another, but for repairs on a shoestring budget, this will get me through for now.
This particular version of this part is made incredibly flimsy and cheaply made. MOST Fluidmaster parts are quality made. I have used them since the early 80s. I needed to replace a flush valve on a toilet that came with the house. The extreme savings for only $6 each was too hard to resist. When I opened the package it was obvious why. These must be some sort of budget model. I bought 2 since they were on some sort of special sale. I had to return one of them because it was missing parts. I kept the other and replaced the broken part. I don't know how long it will last. I went to Lowe's and opened the same brand but different model number and it was what I would expect too see for Fluidmaster. It was also about $11 more. Fluidmaster parts are still trustworthy, just not this particular model
even though it said universal , still did not work for my toilet stool.
The flapper was fine but the gasket was terrible, it is too thin. If you have difficulty geting this to seal to your toilet tank just get a different brand with a cone shaped gasket on the bottom. This brand used to use a cone shaped botom but they decided it was cheaper to reshape the gasket and to use less rubber in doing so. By doing this they made it a risk to either tighten the bottom nut too tight and split the porcelein or use some silicon as a sealeant for the non sealing bottom gasket. We took out a 45 year old one from the same brand with a cone shaped bottom gasket and replaced it with this. $ days later and 3 attempts later (on 2 tiolets) we gave up and bought a different brand, it had a cone shaped gasket and sealed first time, no overtightening risk, no leaks.
For one thing I have to pay to send it back and it wasn't exactly what I needed! So I'm paying for doing business with this seller! I should have read the return policy because it was through Walmart I just thought it would be easily returned
