Originally, I didn't notice the label says “Glass Paint”. After reading the back, I realized it can be used on glass and ceramic surfaces. I ended up actually using it on a terracotta pot to paint the edges gold and it came out great with only one coat. I think it's a great product for art projects and has a good viscosity. Pros: Price, ease of use, color Cons: somewhat thin and may take multiple coats, especially if using on glass. The picture i have is what it looks like with one coat on glass, so clearly it will take multiple coats to get the right look. Overall, I do think it's a good color and worth the price, so I would purchase again.
FolkArt Enamel Glitter and Metallic Glass Paint (2 oz), Metallic Gold I purchased this glass paint to use for my son's and daughter-in-law's wedding. I painted glass and ceramic using this paint. We were on a tight wedding budget, so we repurposed decor we already owned or found at Goodwill. We also purchased items on clearance and painted them to match the gold wedding decor. We painted candleholders and glass bowl pedestals that I made for the wedding. The paint is beautiful. It is a very pretty gold. It is a thinner paint compared to craft paint. It was a good consistency and worked perfectly for glass and ceramic. It took a few coats to cover the ceramic, which was white, and a glass candleholder, which was also white. On the clear glass bowl pedestals, I used one coat. When completed, it was a pretty gold sheen on the glass. It turned out very pretty. I could have painted more than one color, as it can be layered. It is easy to paint with and does not flake after it has dried. I used a paintbrush and a foam brush to apply and texture the paint. I really like this paint. It was easy to paint with and a very pretty color.
My kids are on a pirate kick lately, so I purchased treasure chest piggy banks. Got this gold paint to add their initials with a stencil. One coat was enough, dried quickly, hasn't smeared after drying, and has the right amount of shine.
I love this paint I make banners for parties and these paints never let me down so vibrant and never runny!
Excellent paint for glass artwork.
Works well and perfect color. Just needs a few coats.
I used this gloss finish gold paint to paint many small, real, pumpkins for Thanksgiving. The paint lasted much after the holiday and didn't peel off the waxy pumpkins. I was very impressed!
You have to use a napkin to clean the colors out while using them because using water ruins the painting process. Curing takes 30min at 350°f and it kinda smells like burning plastic or something when you open the oven door but it goes away so make sure you have proper ventilation. Colors are vibrant and thick like acrylic. They dry very quickly similar to acrylics. Use parchment paper or paper plate to place the paint on because it's very hard to remove dried enamel paint from anything you normally use like a paint palette or ceramic plate. Use isopropyl alcohol to prep your items to paint. The enamel cures well but I still feel like it chips. I don't know if that's user error on my end or the brand FolkArt. 7/10 for durability. 9/10 for vibrancy. 7/10 for application. 5/10 for workability because it dries so fast
This acrylic paint was incredibly helpful for a home decor project. My wife applied it in three layers to get the exact color and opacity she wanted on a plant tub. It layers beautifully so you can easily achieve your desired shade. Overall, a very good product!
Pretty easy to use…Color is close to an original mirror that I had… Now I have to find other items to use this great paint color.
