I took a solid three weeks to test this unit before writing this review, and I have mixed feelings. If I could lift it, I would honestly return it. Thats why i had it delivered. The Fosawd brand offers great value for the price, but in my opinion, the advertised square footage coverage is off—it should be rated for at least 270 sq. ft. less than claimed. My intended room was 600 sq ft now room is 400 sq. ft., and this unit struggles to keep up.
One major issue: it does not self-drain with ease as advertised. I have to manually drain it, which was frustrating. Even with the sleep mode (which is impressively quiet and efficient), the unit builds up a lot of condensation—after 40 minutes to an hour running on low at 65°F, it starts to sweat heavily.
Now, for the good: it's a solid unit for a small bedroom—quiet, sleek, and the cooling works decently in tighter spaces. I was drawn in by the price and ended up buying the lower BTU version too (check my review on that one), but this one was supposed to be the more powerful of the two. Honestly, I expected better performance.
I recommend placing it on a platform or elevation to help with drainage—even though it has wheels, that didn't seem to help much in my case.
Final verdict: 3.5 stars for this unit. It's not terrible, but the performance issues and condensation make it hard to fully recommend for medium-sized rooms.
