There are a lot of these to choose from. I got tired of reading reviews, comparing, and settled on this one. IT FEELS SOLID and well built. The size is perfect. Compact but not so tiny that it barely works. Radio picks up stations rather well. It's not a solid sub woofer sounding "stereo" but the sound quality is VERY GOOD. Hand crank works well and is not hard to use. The three black buttons on the front face of it, above the radio stations, you have to hold them pressed down until the work. At first we thought their functions did not work. We just had to long press the black rectangle rubber type buttons. This radio even has an Aux port for plugging in an Mp3 player or connecting it to a larger speaker system. The reading light top panel is very bring. Flashlight, bright! Next to the battery icon on front, to right of it, that light goes on in bright red when the sun is charging the solar panel on top of the radio. Opposite side of the flashlight, by the USB and charging port, it's a thermometer, for reading outside temp. I have zero faith in the "compass" on top, lol, but no matter. Those little add on ones usually have no purpose. If it works, consider it a bonus. Most people do not depend on them. The carry strap is very solid and well made. It velcos on. Unattach it to let the sun hit the little solar panel. You could also make your own paracord carry handle if you like doing that. Weatherband (WB) works. It will pick up the one weather station in your area, for the majority of people. I really was expecting something cheap. Nicely surprised. I'm so glad I got this particular one. These are great for your office desk, camping - to know if a storm is coming or have music. You can also alligator clip a long wire to the telescopic antenna, toss it 25 ft into a tall tree or on top of your RV to get more range. Weather band feature is not just for hurricanes or snow storms but for regular storms incoming for camping, small boating, those doing projects outside or fishing, etc. I thought the sound of the radio would be more like cheesy tin can sound. NOT THE CASE. Very decent sound from radio minus a sub woofer, lol. Metal telescopic antenna. Don't break it...but if you do, it's an easy remedy or fix. Videos on social media will easily guide you. ...for the three rubbery rectangle buttons at top above the radio stations, they just look black but closely looking and with bright light, you can kind of see the icons on them. To remedy this, I took a silver Sharpie marker and gentle rubbed the marker over it to highlight the icon symbols. Now we can see them immediately and know what they are for. This is good for our older parents and grandparent. Absolutely not any deal breaker. This radio is AWESOME! Great for gifts, at least this one is. It says 10,000 mAh for battery life. Still worth it if it's just half of that. The C charger cable charges it via USB cord, or hand crank this radio about 80 to 100 revolutions, or let the sun charge it?
