Good, but don't know about 40K miles.
Seems to be the same filter media they've used for years. When Fram changed the box label to "40,000 miles" a couple of years ago, I pushed the interval from 15K to 20K miles. But after this last stint which included a 1600-mile road trip, it was pretty dirty. I wouldn't advise going past 20,000.
