Francisco Extra Sourdough Bread, 24 oz

When I was a kid, any bread was good. Used it to hold my peanut butter an jelly. Now years later I want a piece of bread to go with my chicken luttuce and tomato sandwich. It tastes just like a delicoious deli sandwich. This bread holds together much better than most breads.

This is the only sourdough bread that I use love the texture and the taste, and the value for the cost is great. My only critique would be that I wish it was more sour. I use it mostly to make sourdough hamburger sandwiches toasted with cheese of course lol.

the taste is sourdough, but not strong. The bread is usually cut thin. ( I prefer ) and is smooth when not toasted, and hasna perfect crunch when toasted. Sourdough is said to be different than regular white breas, a bit better for you. its a bit more money, but i think its worth it.

this my favorite bread I can't eat bread often but I love this I keep it in the fridge and it makes it through the month I toast mine and spread my own mixture of cream cheese butter ,or cream cheese butter and fruit and refridgerate the rest it is so good

This is the best tasting sourdough sliced bread on the shelf. I've tried other brands but none can compare to the taste of Francisco Extra Sourdough Sliced Bread. Actually just about everything Francisco bakes is delicious but if you want authentic tasting sourdough sliced bread this is for you without a doubt.

The quality of this bread seems to have diminished over the past year or so. I don't know if they changed the recipe, or what.....but it's just not as good as it used to be. Doesn't have very much of a "sour"dough taste any more, but I still prefer it over plain, white bread.

The new “sour dough” bread is not like original. Texture is like quick rise white bread. Taste is as if sour was added via a bit of vinegar and sugar. Real sour dough takes about 12 hours minimum rising time and the natural yeast transforms the bread, adding a cultured flavor too. This new sour dough tastes like quick rise bread. It probably saves a company much money to bake more quickly. But it is not genuine sour dough.

I'm saddened! Not the same bread as it used to be, not extra sourdough, doesn't have the same taste and they've added some kind of preservative, I had a partial loaf for over a month and it never molded. You might think that's a good thing but it's not! It's just not the same, I won't be buying any more!

not even a scent of sour, very disappointed

This bread look perfect from outside the wrapper but inside is plain, white bread with white bread crust. There is no taste that remotely is like sour dough. It is your basic bread taste. The crust is not crunchy like a sourdough bread is and is nothing like an extra sourdough bread. My opinion? Bake your own.
