The item delivered in great shape and in reasonable timeframe. I have been collecting physical media for years, and been accumulating these Hammer horror films for 2 or 3 years. I am fond of director Terence Fishers work as well. I found that if you like these old horror classics, the Collector's Edition is the way to go: Always packed with great special features, audio commentaries, and the best transfers of the film. This was Hammer's 4th outing with the Dr played by Peter Cushing (I'm also a fan of the actor), and although the series partly lost its way with an unnecessary reset on the last installment, (Evil of Frankenstein), as odd as this entry is, as now soul transfer is possible (?) by Dr F, the weirdness of the concept put a start to the series clawing back to its former glory, preparing the world for the next film (Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed [1969]).
As a fan of most of the old Hammer Studio films. I am very pleased to finally add this entry to my collection. This is most certainly a very unique inclusion into the Frankenstein lore. Not exactly a traditional "Monster Movie". It is however, a very interesting revenge tail with a pretty wild twist. I would definitely recommend this film if you are looking for something with its own distinctive flavor. I also wanted to mention that for the price currently, for just under $15 It's an excellent value in my opinion.
You can never go wrong with Peter Cushing in a Hammer movie.
The movie seems disconnected from prior Hammer Frankenstein films. The story is rather slow moving and not interesting. Peter Cushing's Frankenstein is not as eccentric in this film as his other hammer Frankenstein films. The acting by all is fair. The color palette did look realistic. The sound was adequate.
