Always play X-40 ball it was the 1st and most consistent ball.
We have been using the Franklin x-40 in our club for the last three years and for the price, find them to be ideal for our facility and players. Longer lasting, dependable and maintain their shape
We play in a group of around 30 MW and F outdoors every week. Weve tried other brands and the x=40s just plain hold up. Stay lively, keep their form and don't crack until we've gotten plenty of play. They are the ball of choice for local tournaments as well, so the folks in our group that participate in tournaments get practice with the correct ball. And by their success, I'd say it's definite benefit.
Our home court is at 7,400 feet. In my opinion, the X-40 is the only ball which still plays right at altitude. Very good value.
I love the pink X-40 balls for advanced indoor play. They hold there shape and play well with great durability. As an IPTPA coach there fantastic on wooden floors and are great for topspins.
As a pickleball club we use the X-40 as our exclusive ball for rec and tournament play. We have members from beginners to 5.0 and these balls stand up to the test.
We use this ball for our Club play. When they crack we use them for our Holiday Party. I spray paint our cracked ball for awards at our Sadie Hawkins Day Play, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The Franklin X-40 balls are great! X-40's are durable and relatively well made. The only issue is that roughly 5-10% of the balls received in the 100 Pack are wobbly.
I have found that occasionally one of the new balls is out of balance and it has to be discarded immediately. Otherwise, the X-40 is my preferred ball to play.
X40 balls with the Franklin logo stamped on them seem to be of lesser quality than the older version without it. I purchased 32 balls. Quality is not great. Some of them are not round.
