I love this paddle! A great price! Thinking of buying a second one to have on hand.
The Centre paddle has excellent touch and feel at an affordable price. It plays like and is a high end paddle. It has texture to get spin and is responsive to fire fights at the moment of attack. Other manufacturers are charging twice as much and the Aspen Kern Centre paddle is right there with the best of them. Any level of player can feel confident in their choice of this paddle to get the job done.
At first I wasn't sure how I would like the paddle. I have always been partial to a heavier paddle.... typically 8 oz plus.Since I didn't specify weight instead of the heavier 7.8 I ended up with 7.4. Mentally I had made up my mind this paddle would not work... however I decided to stick with it for several weeks before deciding to give up on it. Power wise from the baseline, I didn't feel any noticeable loss, however I do notice a difference and still learning how to adjust to it. Touch at the net is fantastic, lobs from the kitchen seem more precise. The lighter paddle has actually improved my response time. I can generally hang in any firefight. I did go back to try several of my favorite paddles to see if I should return to a heavier paddle. I quickly went back to the Franklin. I would like to try a 7.8 sometime to see how much if any difference there is.
I've only played 4 times with this paddle but have used many other paddles prior to this one. I chose it because I like a light-weight paddle with balanced feel, and can generate both spin and power. I usually play a Paddletek Tempest Pro but thought I'd try this due to price and curiosity. I was able to take advantage of a great sale but would recommend this purchase even at regular price. I haven't played with it enough to know how long the grit might last. Other players have commented on uniqueness of the graphics.
I usually play at Paddletek Tempest Pro but the transition to this paddle was so easy. Spin, power without effort, and nice balance even though it is a lightweight paddle. I prefer that for quick reaction time at the net since I'm getting older rather than faster.
I bought the racquet because I'd played worth it, and knew I liked its responsiveness, light weight and feel in the hand. The Franklin buying experience was excellent too, helped by the discount code my pickleball teacher gave me.
Love this paddle! Right off the bat, it felt light and had a great feel. I bought it because I have tennis elbow and other paddles aggravate it, but this one does not at all. Will be using for all games! Thanks for speedy shipping too.
One if the best if not THE BEST paddle I have ever used. I have tried so many different paddles and I keep coming back to this one. The control is outstanding, the sweet spot is huge. I highly recommend this to anyone!
This is the best paddle I have ever played with. The control is outstanding. The max grit really helps me put a ton of spin on the ball. I now have 3 of these in my bag!
Enjoy the paddle. I had to add lead tape to make it heavier, but I had to do the same with the Ben Johns.
