Frank's Quality Shredded Sauerkraut, 8 Oz Can

I'm the only one in my household that eats this, so this little can is a great way to have some on hand to make with a meal. It is very good, just the right serving size for me!

Personally, I like the smaller can because I cook for 1. One can is plenty for 4 pork steaks. Yum leftovers.

This is really good for the price point. It's perfect paired with a brat or hotdog and a little mustard of your choosing

Has just the correct level of tartness without having to wash to lower the tartness. Slightly sweet taste, but more tart than sweet. Just right for me. I've tried other brands, and found Frank's to have the best taste (but not their sweet sauerkraut which is far too sweet for my taste). Some users remark that the acid will take on a metallic flavor from the can. I've bought this brand in a glass jar, but found it wasn't quite as tart as from a can, so maybe it does pick up some metal flavor from the can, but I like it better that way. Use this to make sandwiches, like Ruebens or Rachels, but need to first drain out the excess liquid, so the sandwich doesn't get soggy. After opening, good for a few weeks in the fridge with its lid put back on with a rubber band holding it down. It's the only brand I like.

This can holds just ONE CUP of sauerkraut. I need to read labels better. Normally, I would NEVER spend that much for ONE CUP of sauerkraut. The advertising made it look like a regular 14-15oz can which would sell for the same or even less than this 8oz can. Serving size is listed as 2 Tablespoons. That wouldn't even make a good reuben sandwich!!
