I purchased four for a lunchbox and the very first time I used them, once they started the thaw, they ALL leaked from the top cork seal! This blue goo came out of them and went all over the lunchbox which is SO dangerous for kids!! Thank god I didn't pack any popsicles in there that day. Omg it's most likely toxic to eat. Walmart- pull these off your website AND the store shelves!!! Yall need to not sell potentially Dangerous things like this when it's going in a child's lunchbox!
These freeze and stay cold for a long time. The construction of these are flimsy. After first time in the freezer, all 4 ice packs did not stay square, they all expanded in the plastic case at the lowest point when frozen. They no longer lay flat and do not look good. But they have not cracked yet and do keep my lunch items cold for a long time.
No Vanilla in this ice. The plastic is much thinner than the ones I used to own. Some one gave me two Igloo brand about ten years ago, I used them every work day for five years and occasional use after that. I threw them away last summer because of their age. No leaks, better safe than sorry. I bought this brand and stacked them two deep. That was a mistake. See photos. Because they were stacked, the bottom ice packs froze with the air bubble on top and it was no problem. The top layer froze around the edges first and the bottom last. I believe this is why they developed the protrusion that they did. See photos. It took a minute to figure it out, but I think the cure is to freeze one layer deep, stand them upright and leave space between them. I bought 12 of these, but six are damaged. This was my fault, so I hope my experience helps someone. I am going to make a rack from metal coat hangers to support and space these so they will stand up inthe freezer. The six that have a protrusion will never be right again, but they aren't leaking at the moment, so I will put them in a freezer bag before use. This space is where my freezer's ice maker used to be. A cooling rack for a half-sheet pan makes an excellent shelf. I turned the ice pack at the front over so that we could see it better Have a great day.
These are the ONLY ice blocks you need! I have tried the thinner, smaller ones but they really don't last long in a hard shell cooler. I purchased two FreezPak large blocks to test in my cooler. I was so impressed I purchased 2 additional FreezPaks. I need ice blocks that keep my cooler cold, and stay cold, and these FreezPaks outlast any other ice blocks I've tried. I live a good distance from grocery/warehouse stores, and I love putting the FreezPaks in my cooler for food shopping trips. I never have to worry about the perishable items staying cold. I know they are just ice blocks, but to me they are a lifesaver during the hot weather (and all year)! They are larger (taller, thicker) than some others, but that's what makes them so great. Make some extra room in the freezer for these; you won't regret it!
Totally cheap product, the first time we froze it the whole case blew up!
It's a 2-lb ice pack in size large that is misadvertised at online Walmart
Really quality ice packs. I put them in my lunch box in bags to store food and it has lasted me 10 hours.
these are $1.48 and the others are 98c but the small print online dont mention these ones are twice the weight! much better deal. i bought both online because they was low inventory and got them today and now see the extra 50c for this one is well worth the price. see the difference. the baby ones are ideal for a kids lunch bag on a road trip with a drink and snack but the bigger one is ideal for a 6pk cooler.
One was broken and leaking after I had gotten home from my pickup
We put a couple of these in plastic bags in the car whenever we go out in the summer, and leave them our daughter's car seat while we're doing shopping or whatever, then when we get back to the car her carseat isn't unbearably hot. Also have found that even one of these in a small flexible cooler pack can keep a few bottles of water reasonably cool for 8 hours in a hot car, and 3 in a medium cooler works great, evem for 24 hours, and is so much less messy than ice. They do bulge when frozen after a while so I can't imagine they'll last for years and years, but even if we buy new ones every year it's well worth the price.
