Quality control during shipping seems to be a problem with these pears. Rough handling during shipping when the pears are still green leads to multiple major bruises on each pear when they are riper. In addition, the pear bottoms ripen more quickly than the tops in several bags I’ve purchased.
I get my groceries delivered and getting pears has been a split decision here. A couple of times they’ve been great. A couple times they’ve been so so. But once they were horrible, only 2 pears in the bag were ok, the rest were so overly ripe that were complete mush. It’s not like they were just overripe, they were actually leaking juice and just smooshed from being overripe
I bought this because it was almost half off. Unfortunately, almost all of them got very soft and bad quickly. I put them in the fridge, and it seemed it made them worse. They started to disintegrate in a plastic bag. I thought it was a good deal, but I only ate 2-3 of them, soft and not tasty, and the rest of them, I had to toss them.
These pears looked great in the bag so I grabbed them. I was so disappointed when I got home. I chilled one and took a bite and spit it out. It tasted chemically and I would say rancid, but that’s not really a word you use for fruit that’s more for meat but it just had this Immediate Oh no, that’s not going down my throat taste.
The bag is half rotten! They are just about all browned between yesterday and today. I have them put aside to return but my time is limited and these pairs are rotting by the Minute even worse., you gotta do a better job of selection and improve your produce dept.
Received these pears and they were already accumulating mold, they also had white powder all over them and they smelled like a strong perfume and caused me an asthma attack :/ Very gross and disappointing!! I’m really hoping the picker would choose better for themselves!!
The pears I ordered was delivered rotten. Even more astonishing is that you could see through the bag, right behind the 'Freshness Guaranteed' printing, that the produce was bad. Mushy, slimy, and covered in brown spots. Had to pick through, wash, and salvage what I could. Very disappointed. But to Walmart's credit, they did issue a refund immediately. Still ...
I had to throw out these pears because they were either rotten or had some sort of black mold all over them. I had already opened the bag and wasn't going to go through the hassle of returning them. I do pick up so I don't have to go into the store as I typically have a subpar experience with the employees in the store. So the thought of having to do a return was not worth the $4 I lost buying these. I swear the store gives pickup orders the worst quality products so they get rid of items that in store costumers would not select. I don't buy milk here anymore for the same reason. I kept getting milk that was expiring the next day or two after the purchase.
Every one of my pears was bruised and brown spots all over them. It’s easier for me to order and just pickup but I wish that your packers would be more conscience of what they pickup. There should be the standard if I wouldn’t buy it for my family my customers probably wouldn’t want to buy it either!
Ordered these for home delivery. They were left at my front door, and the entire bag is rotten!! Second time within a month that the same store delivered rotten produce!! Seems Walmart has become such a monopoly that they’re no longer concerned with quality and customer service. Getting a refund isn’t difficult. It’s the inconvenience of having to go through the refund process, then go to a different store to re-purchase the items you need. WAKE UP WALMART!!!
