I saw several other negative reviews about the delivery of basil and decided to take the risk of ordering them despite the negative reviews. When the basil showed up, I was pleasantly surprised as it wasn’t wilted, brown or shredded. The basil was fresh, smelled amazing and ready for use after washing. I ordered from Cromwell CT Walmart which usually has a decent selection of fresh items.
A little goes a long way. I tried the potted basil, thinking it would be packed with flavor and last longer - IT DID NOT. This basil had leaves that were fresh (still on stems) and the taste was unimaginable! You would think it was from your garden. I bought it on sale, so it was well worth it.
This product is consistently fresh and flavorful. Not much waste at all. This company does a really great job of packaging and providing a quality product. This adds so much flavor to a spaghetti sauce when chopped up and put in during the last five minutes. You won’t believe how authentic the flavor becomes.
I buy a lot when not home grown . Its hit or miss. Sometimes they have fresh sometimes the back half is bad which makes the whole thing go rotten quick. So if you use delivery ask them to shake the package and make sure its fresh or new stock which 99.999% is at the very back of the line.
The basil and fresh oregano were of poor quality. The items were black and limp. Not usable. They appeared to have been frozen or exposed to extreme cold for a prolonged period. Only one pkg of bail is usable and a partial package of oregano. The other 3 packages have to be thrown away.
Arrived with the leaves half black. All wilted. Couldn't use unless I wanted to eat mold. Stop telling your in-store shoppers to give the inedible, expired, rotten produce and really, any fresh item to your delivery %26 pick up customers. People who can't get there, with certain medical conditions rely on whole foods to live %26 being sick is expensive! No one has money to literally throw into the garage. 95% of the time my produce is gross %26 if edible, turns bad within a day. Do better!
I've ordered this 6 times and it always comes brown and sometimes even moldy. Why would walmart think selling this was ok and why would they charge me for this on delivery orders? Once it came green but COVERED in tons of tiny green bugs. Disgusting. Its funny that walmart asked me to review this crap.
It was brought to me rotten. Like come on to whoever picked my groceries you know you’d be upset if someone brought to some funky stuff. You can literally see in the box and tell it’s no good. Do better please.
listen i’m sure basil is normally fine it’s a plant just pick a green one. but NOT EVEN ONE USEABLE LEAFE??? there is no way an employee looked and that and went “yeah this is the one!” like bro…cmon. the photo is exactly how it was delivered to me.
I should have heeded the reviews on this item. I wondered, how bad can it be?? It's terrible. sent with brown leaves, The worst part is one of their employees chose to pick this product and send it with my order. do they not train them on what quality produce looks like?? Wouldn't Walmart be better not to send this than have an irate customer??
