I use fresh chives instead of onions in every dish possible! As a mature woman, onions cause more gastric distress these days! The consistent flavors and freshness are always excellent! It's so easy to snip fresh chives into any dish, cold, such as potato salad or baked casseroles! A quick tip, folks: grab the amount of chives you need for your particular dish and snip them with your kitchen scissors! It's a game-changer! No eye issues from cutting regular onions!
I wish my shoppers would look more closely at the content. As a general rule about 2/3rds are useable. the rest clearly past being usable. The cost is so low that the purchase is still worth it, but really..open the clamshell if you have to. Produce mgrs should cull regularly.
I purchase these to not only cook with but too also make homemade french onion dip for my family. I also use them in my toss salad when I make one for my family. I will buy a pack until I can get a fresh starter to grow my own.
This is my 3rd or 4th time ordering fresh herbs from Walmart, and 1 of 2 things always occur. Either they are out-of-stock, or the item arrives in such a state, it is not consumable. Not sure why their herbs and fresh produce are listed as such, because they certainly never are. The shoppers never seem to pay attention when picking out produce. If the order says 1 apple, they pick up the first one they can find and move on to the next item on the list, never having once examined the apple to see whether or not it was actually an apple someone would want to consume. I can practically guarantee, that if that same Walmart associate were shopping for their own household, the majority of produce they pick out for the customers they shop for, would never end up in their own cart.
The employee who picked these for my order did not look at the package and you really should when it’s fresh produce. They were rotten slimy gooey melted chives.
These are normally fine and they do a good job picking them, but this time whoever picked them gave me overripe chives with slime on them and I had to throw the whole package away. There were a lot of them that were yellow and not green. That should have been the first clue.
It literally smelled pungent when I took it out of the bag and now I see why. It was disgusting. It was wilted. It was slimy. It was beyond freshness. Honestly, I wanted to take it back to the store just to throw it and whoever packaged my orders face. Who thinks it’s a good idea to give a customer rancid chives? Maybe if you paid your employees more than $5 an hour they’d actually give a sh i t about their job until then, I guess I’m gonna have to roll the dice on getting disgusting rancid produce just because it’s convenient for me as a mom of two little babies.
I received a rotten package of chives. They were wet, with yellow stains and a rotten smell. This item was Packaged on May 9th, almost 4 weeks ago. Chives last 1-2 weeks if stored properly. Walmart, shame on you for allowing this to be bought. I'd like my money back.
expires today, today did I bought it , chives. It's wilted and gross it smells bad I can't even believe somebody will pick this up.And not see this mess i ami'm so disappointed and frustrated. Of course. Just like the other produce that I review is not allowing me to upload my photo. I wished that somebody will contact me about this. I need a refund!
Okay I gave the taste one star but I never got to taste it. When I opened the package up to pick some out to top my potato with I had to throw the whole package out. It was slimy. I noticed this with many of the hens sold in these clamshell packages. I won’t be buying this again
