Single apples are usually better quality. Bags apples at Walmart usually contain a few apples with gashes or holes or rotten spots. May depend upon the integrity of the produce manager or overall manager of individual Walmart stores.
These apples are great. They are not too big, easy to eat. I slice them up and eat them with peanut butter. I even cut them up and put them in my tuna salad, and I use them in my spinach dip. They are just perfect, and the price is right.
I used to only eat red delicious apples, and then I was introduced to gala apples. My taste buds were transformed. I love the taste and versatility of this apple.
This Gala apple is a great everyday choice. It has a nice crisp texture and a naturally sweet flavor that’s easy to enjoy. Good for a quick snack or adding to meals, and it tastes fresh and satisfying. A simple, reliable pick if you’re looking for a good apple.
Fresh Gala apple: Not quite as good in taste or produce shelf life as Honey Crisp or a cosmic Crisp and texture is different. A good bit more grainy in texture and has a lighter, a smidge of a buttery after taste yet pretty evenly bland in flavor by comparison. The size is average for an apple, not as large as Cosmic Crisp. The grain
every apple was too bruised/cracked/rotten to eat. I'm learning that the people who pick the items ordered for pick up or delivery will choose the absolute worst fruit and vegetables available. delivery people will toss bags and items on your doorstep with no care for easily damaged items
I usually love Gala apples, but these were a total disappointment. Most of them arrived with large bruises, and a couple were actually soft and mealy instead of being crisp like they should be. The quality is just really inconsistent—some were okay, but half the bag was basically unusable. I'd definitely recommend picking these out yourself in-store if you can, rather than ordering them for delivery, because the quality control just isn't there right now.
This Apple is totally unacceptable. I cannot believe that the person packing my order actually put this apple in the bag second of all I can’t believe Walmart would have an apple available to pick to send it to someone. The problem with having your food deliver is that the people choosing your fresh vegetables hardly ever send a ripe vegetable. It’s usually old squishy and will last maybe if you’re lucky a day this needs to be changed other than that it’s usually done very well but fresh vegetables and fruits are a joke and here is proof.
When I returned to Apple, the store manager treated me disrespectfully. I explained that I couldn't eat the item, but he forcibly snatched the bag from my hand, causing both physical pain and embarrassment. This experience has made it clear to me that I will not be returning to that Walmart in Austin, Texas.
This is really unacceptable. I don't know if I'm even going to be eating these that look like someone's nail dug into it. I have been ordering for pickup almost every week and there's always something damaged with the produce, whether it's mold or poor quality items being hand picked.
