My Daughter and I buy guavas very often to make juices, even though they are not organic we love buying them often. Not everybody has them and this price is very reasonable. We Ripen them then freeze or make make juice to fortify our immune system! We also love guanábanas!!!!
These are such a good healthy fruit option! I was thrilled to find that Walmart carried these. I prefer them well they're still a bit firm and my kids like them when they're really soft. Both ways are great! :-) You do it eat the seeds, but don't bite down hard on them!
We bought them regularly. Guava has more vitamin C then the any other produce items. I eat it whole. Just wash it thoroughly and bite it with the skin. I spit away seeds when they bother me. The best taste it has when it become hard soft and has strong aroma, but not very yellow. When over ripen that they can be mushy.
I love guava, however since the Clamshell guava is the only kind of have you offer, "dull" is the only word that comes to mind. Since all guava are full of vitamin C, it is still a great value to me. I just wish you would offer the pink guava. They are more tasty than the Clamshell.
I happened upon these, long ago. Tasty. Fine source of vitamin C. Intended to be eaten whole, including seeds. Seeds simply pass through. (Consider any digestive issues before consuming.) I do invoke my produce cleaning method for these. By far, Walmart is the best and freshest value for these: Others never even come close! From Mexico.
Very aromatic and flavorful fruit from the South. I keep it outside for a day or two till they get yellow and start spreading the aroma. With fruit salt/black salt it tastes even better.
Had only tasted Guava in jelly form and was anxious to try it. Everything I read said the seeds could be eaten but I found them difficult to corral so opted to remove them. The Guava is good a cross between pear and mango I'd say better riper but ok either way and the skin can be eaten if it is in good shape. Peel and simmer in a bit of simple syrup and it changes everything to excellent. Our selection is so different from others most Guava are the size of large peaches or mangos.
I love guava. I particularly like the juice. When I saw that the actual fruit was available, I purchased it. The fruit does not have a strong flavor, did not have the pink interior that you typically see with guava that’s been cut open, and the texture was not at all appealing. I didn’t spend much, and it was all for a new experience, so I guess it’s OK for that. I would never buy them again though.
I love guavas, but these are the worst I've ever tried. I've bought these about 4 times, hoping to find some good quality. Nope. The best are pithy, dry, and flavorless. The worst never ripen, but rot. If you've never had guavas, don't try these, because you won't know how yummy they can be.
These were covered in mold when I received them. There is no way someone didn't notice this when they packed my order. I was then told I would have to bring them back to the store for a refund. Walmart is over a 30min drive from my house, and I don't really want to drive around with rotten fruit in my car. So I guess I just have to forget my refund.
