This was fresh and clean. I normally shop at Whole Foods and Trader Joes, but needed this quickly. Organics are hit and miss because they when they are grown on large farms, they are likely subjected to pesticides used on treated crops. They cooked up nicely.
Mind you this was online order so I didn’t pick it and I would most definitely not have if they all were the same at the store. So the bunch I received was not fresh, had started to have bad broccoli smell not good broccoli smell, and it had too much stem! Like, do people really eat that part? Maybe I don’t know something….? But way too much stem and for the amount of broccoli will be consumed from this bunch, not worth it to me, I went with organic this time and I get so much more from the regular bunch. Going back to none organic for this item in future.
Broccoli is advertised as FRESH. I received wilted, old broccoli with black spots. I have complained several times of receiving bad produce to customer service. In order to get a refund I have to return their spoiled food that their SHOPPER sent me. I do not have a vehicle. I rely solely on delivery. I am complaining on this format due to feeling that Walmart is not listening to me. Every delivery order which is almost weekly there is an issue with produce. I am autistic and these repeated experiences cause stress that every future order will have bad food. Complaining online over and over has caused extreme stress and anxiety.
Usually the organic broccoli from Walmart is great! But, for the past 3 weeks I’ve ordered groceries, I received old, slimy and black spotted broccoli! You could literally see it through the packaging! Someone may need to check the veggies periodically to see if they are still good.
Over half of the broccoli had to be thrown out because it was rotting. There were clear signs on the outside florets (brown, slimy areas) that the employee who gathered my order should have noticed. This bunch should not have been allowed to decompose this badly on the store’s shelves.
Produce from the local Walmart does not last. The broccoli has been old, nasty and unusable the past four delivery orders. And that is delivery from store to my house. Which is ten minutes from the store. The last bunch was so bad I had to throw it away, could not use any of it.
I did not receive organic broccoli, however, I was charged for organic broccoli. The broccoli that I did receive had no stalks and was just a mini head of broccoli. And I do mean mini. The stems appear to have been recently and very cleanly cut. The "head" wasn't packaged or wrapped. It was loose in a regular Walmart bag. Extremely disappointing all around.
I couldn’t review this as it wasn’t available. The substitute was 2 long stem stalks of broccoli that I am very happy with. I like to eat cut up sticks of the long stem and use for dipping in Hummus. Stalks have many nutrients in them that the flower heads don’t have.
Nasty! There were tiny bugs crawling all inside this broccoli. It was a delivery. I don’t have time to drive 25min to the store to return so I just threw it away. Husband bought some brussel sprouts in store July 5, 2025. I don’t have the receipt anymore so they won’t let me write a review so I’ll include a picture… worms in the brussel sprouts! Didn’t have time to return that either so into the trash they go. As a busy working mom with young kids, I rely on Walmart to take grocery pick-up off my plate. Not sure I’ll be a member much longer. Their produce is so unreliable and I end up throwing money straight into the garbage.
Broccoli is my favorite vegetable but I have received so many bad heads that I have finally stopped buying it. They always arrive in various States of decline, from yellowing to downright rotting inside. it makes me sad that I can't get decent food when I order online, particularly not where veggies are concerned. Don't trust the broccoli unless you are standing there picking it out yourself! The shoppers will not even notice the black spots of rotting food in between the leaves, which often go deep into the core of the head.
