Most often these apples are very fresh and crispy. This was my third time I reorder these Gala organic apples. I have had only 1 bad apple packed in a bag but the rest of the apples in the bag are great. They are not large but just right for me. I bit into one then I smear the apple with almond butter which is a great protein product! Very yummy.
Believe it or not, I enjoy Gala apples, but do not usually buy the organic variety simply because of price. When I did purchase these, they were the only ones available at the time. When I cut a few up a few days later, they were beginning to turn brown inside. There were only 2 out of that bag that we were able to eat. Not worth the cost.
The Marketside Organic Apples were NOT delivered A SUBSTITUTE Organic brand was del'd instead and were Very small (15-16 apples for 3 lbs) The Apples were Tasteless with Very Tough Chewy skin. Definitely were some of the worst apples I've tasted ---- cooked them for AppleSauce but had to Add apple juice for flavor. And I did NOT request a Substitute.
6/10 apples in the bag had rotten spots, deep bruises, cuts. For $7/bag, I expected better quality produce. This is unacceptable. Disappointed again, this will be my last produce purchase by online ordering. Your store needs to improve quality control.
Poor quality. Requested refund and told to bring to store. Called AI customer service, that was impersonal and not a good experience and told to bring to store or too bad and no refund. What a joke. May start shopping elsewhere. And good luck even located customer service contact info. Hidden deep within app. Walmart quality going downhill in a regards, even the food quality.
There were three rotten apples in the bag. Walmart was good about the return however. So we just decided to pick our own apples out from now on. I also had a problem with the sweet potatoes being terrible. I don't know who does the shopping but they don't care what kind of junk they give you!
Liked the price, but people who select produce need to be aware, or trained what to look for when selecting items. I had a suspicion as soon as I touched the sticky bag. These apples are damaged with rotten areas, marks and who knows about the taste. I surely won't be tasting them.
I love organic Gala apples. Unfortunately, the produce was not inspected. It’s not gonna stop me from Buying organic Gala apples I just wish the person in the produce department did a better job. I did not personally pick these out. It was a pick up order, but I am disappointed that I didn’t see it before I got home I would like a refund. It would be nice to be able to take them back to the store but unfortunately I’m charged insurance by the mileage.
Since Walmart only lets you review at item once, keep in mind when you buy fresh produce, it may be good one time and bad the next time. Sometimes these apples are good and sometimes they are not. This bag was crispy and juicy but lacked any flavor at all. I do like that they are small apples, just wish they had some flavor. I hate buying a bag of huge apples.
These apples have a weird coating on them that is waxy/oily, impossible to wash off (even tried dishwashing liquid, knowing I wasn't going to eat it and it still wouldn't come off), and leaves the residue on your hands when you try to rinse it. To be organic, this coating could be: Carnauba wax (derived from the leaves of the Brazilian palm tree), beeswax (natural wax created by honeybees) or shellac (a resin secreted by the female lac bug). We don't know which, because you don't disclose it on the bag or online description. But I DON"T WANT TO EAT ANY OF THOSE. This leaves no alternative but to peel every tiny apple and even then, the wax transfers from the knife to the peeled apple. This is apple season, surely you can offer us an oil-dipped-free organic apple?
