As I approached the doors of my local walmart on a cold and blustery late winter day my mission was to get a oil filter for my '82 ford pinto. I marched thru the doors, determined to be in and out as quickly as possible. As I dutifully walked towards the automotive section try my best not to get distracted I looked to the left towards the produce section and my eyes were immediately drawn to a center display. It was like a giant tropical mountain made of prickly golden pineapples sporting the greenest tops you had ever seen. Abort mission!!!, I said to myself, the pinto will have to wait a little longer. I checked my wallet to see what my cashflow situation looked like. Dang it..I only have a $10 and these gorgeous ladies must cost far above that. I walked towards them knowing full well that I would not be acquiring one today but thought I could at least admire them. when i got closer I could hardly believe my eyes. The price placard said $1.98!! looks like you will be coming home with me after all my succulent friend. I was so thrilled with my score that I almost forgot my oil filter. On the 20 min ride home i kept ogling this beauty sitting in my passenger seat. when I got home I couldnt wait to get straight to work carving this amazing fruit. She stood a proud 13.5" with a diameter of 4.25" and yielded 2 pounds of edible flesh. What a value! You might even say a Great Value. I thourghly enjoyed it all week long and even treated my goats to the rinds....which they ate like candy. I have gone back several times since then to get more, breaking my trip to town only once a month rule, but worth the sacrifice. My modest income doesn't allow many luxuries in life but every time i sneak a bite or two of the pineapple pieces from the ice box I feel Rich.
These pineapples are a great price and incredibly sweet, my kids won’t even touch canned pineapple anymore. I just wish Walmart offered a “2 for” deal now and then. Tip: Don’t leave fresh produce to grocery pickers. I always choose my own, and here’s what I look for: Golden-yellow color at the base Sweet smell at the bottom Slight give when squeezed Leaves that pull out easily Feels heavy = juicy If you pick a good one, it’s 100% worth it.
It’s fine. The pineapple was fine but every single time I order from you guys there’s always a substitution and then I live right by the store so I get in my car and drive up there and you have the item that you claim you have to substitute these shoppers are not doing their job they’re doing Poorly and then claiming you don’t have items when you do
This pineapple was not ripening. I had it in a brown bag with an apple for 4 days and it still was barely getting ripe. I ended up cutting it open and it smelled like chemicals. I tasted a very small piece and it tasted like chemicals. Ended up throwing it away.
I ordered this pineapple on Friday 4/3/26. When I cut into it (4/4) the whole pineapple had a brown/ bruised layer to it (see picture below) It didn't smell sweet like pineapple usually do. After the color and no smell, I cut in into small pieces and then I tasted it. It was tasteless and left an after taste that was not nice. I throw it away. This is usually from Walmart
I ordered this yesterday and when I cut it open this morning it was brown, over ripe and dry. I wanted fresh fruit and didn’t have time to shop for myself. Had I’d known that this was what I was going to get then I would have told them not to get it. Very disappointed with this item.
I ordered two pineapples and both of them were delivered to me Brown and Moody I'm sure the person who picked the pineapples could see that the pineapples were no good
Ordered the pineapple on the pick up option and received a spoiled pineapple. It seems like the employees just throw in the worst food from the store that is already because it's been happening for a couple of times at this store and I've been having to returns either a fruit or vegetables.
I usually don’t put any fresh produce on my pick up orders, because of this very problem. It’s like the Walmart employees try to find the very worst to give pick up customers. The pineapple I received was rotten. Lesson learned. I’ll be coming in store to select my own produce in the future.
The issue with ordering a pickup from Walmart is that some items don’t look good to eat. Especially the produce… But I have an OVER RIPENED pineapple frankly ive never seen one this weird orange color before. Pretty disappointed in what they allow the kids that gather our pickup items to get away with. Im convinced that they tell them to grab the oldest fruit to get rid of it.
