I think the Red potatoes are great. I've never seen a bad one in any bag I've ordered. I like to put a melted stick of butter in a 9x11 pan, One packet of Good seasons Italian dressing, clean and half The red potatoes and bake at 400* for 35-40 minutes and then use them as a side dish .
Finally, someone paid attention to all the negative reviews and purchased higher quality red potatoes. I don't mind the $2.00/5 lbs. price increase when I can use all of the potatoes and not throw half out as waste due to rotten spots, totally rotten potatoes, old instead of fresh, or having been exposed so that the green under the skin means I have to peel the potato before cooking to avoid hazardous health issues. I also appreciate that this bag was truly RED potatoes - not yukon golds crossed with reds.
Red potatoes are best just sliced under 1/4" thick, leaving skins on. Put a little water in bowl microwave saft, then put in potatoes. Microwave 6-7 minutes, or until soft. Drain off water %26 season with pepper %26 salt, add 1 tablespoon butter. Stir to mix seasonings into the potatoes.
I love these red potatoes. I use them for everything. I know certain potatoes are suppose to be best for certain recipes but, hey who has the time or money to buy those. These red potatoes are universal %26 cheap. They taste great in every kind kind recipe. Great buy.
We were buying the 3 pound instead of the 5 pound but they started sending us these tiny potatoes that you could barely peel cause they were so small so we went to the 5 pound because they were at least bigger so that's why we're buying the 5 pound now, instead of the 3 pound
Great job by the picker. No soft or disfigured potatoes. This means a lot when you are having produce delivery. How well the picker does should be a separate category of review. Sometimes pickers could do a much better job, by not selecting distressed merchandise. This picker did a good job.
I like the specks of red color when I make mashed potatoes. I like the texture...softer texture than the traditional russet potato. And I like the value. With russets, you have to remove the peel, which takes time, %26 I'm throwing away part of what I paid for. With these, no peeling means they are faster %26 I eat everything I paid for so there is zero waste.
This isn't about the pick-up order. I have no complaints about my pick up order. I went into the store the other day and said "what is going on in here" alot of the shelves were empty and what was on the shelves were messy. I asked a employee and all she said was "we have a NEW Manager". That says it all!!!!!
There were 15 potatoes in the 5lb bag. 10 of them were rotten and giving off a foul order. Why isn't the produce manager having items checked and pulled from the shelf? And why is the shopper not noticing that the potatoes were bad? This is poor customer service and the shopper isn't diligent about the job they are paid to do. Why deliver rotten potatoes to a customer?
I really wish shoppers would check the products for rot/damage before they fill your order. These red potatoes were full of sprouts, and if you dropped one on the floor, it would probably bounce because it was squishy instead of firm.
