These Colombian beans are decaffeinated using the Sugarcane EA process, which uses a byproduct of sugarcane fermentation, but is still much more a natural process than traditional chemical decaffeination. I had been purchasing the water process decaffeinated Columbian beans, but this process produces a decaffeinated coffee that tastes like the real thing. I prefer it to the water process decaffeinated coffee.
This is one of my favorite decaf coffees - it has a nice full flavor, and not of the weird after taste that some decaf gives me. This is a staple in our house and has been for quite awhile.
The decaf Columbian roast has a nice rich flavor. The Columbian beans hold up well when roasted dark and Fresh Roasted Coffee hits the mark with those beans.
Great taste, the sense of strength and beautiful aroma! The only question I have which decaffeinating process is better: this one, or water based decaffeinating.
I have acid reflux so I have to mix my coffee half regular and half decaffeinated. I do whole bean coffee because it is fresher than the ground. I use a grinder every day.
The whole bean Decaf Colombian - Roasted Coffee never lets us down. Always smooth and full flavored, with enough body to hold up to milk or cream. This was originally the Sugar Cane process decaf, but it was renamed. Still the same delicious coffee
I love that I can get decaf whole bean coffee that actually tastes good. It has a robust flavor without any bitterness or overly toasted flavors. I use it in my automatic espresso machine and it makes good drinks and isn't too oily, which can cause issues for some machines.
Though I have enjoyed this coffee, I found the roast too dark and oily for a medium roast. I am a medium roast gal all the way and found this to be roasted too dark for my taste. And I do not believe it is a true medium roast. It is good. It *could* be better if they laid off the roasting time. Let the beans do their thing and stop burning off the nuance.
My wife and I don't care for your coffee. It may be because it was 5lbs of fine ground like you would use in an expresso machine. We have a Mr coffee drip machine so it is not the grind it should be. I don't remember having a choice other than whole beans or ground. Oh well
