I’d like to thank my personal shopper for their attention to the freshness of the produce, I’ve yet to have a problem with a mushy tomato or a totally destroyed head of lettuce. I wish there was a way I could thank them, when I do my own shopping or if I were doing it for someone else I’d never buy anything that I not want to serve on my own table. Very conscientious and very delicious tomatoes! Thank you.
This tomatoes are 1 of the best for You. They are more firm than the others and last a lot longer and that's when You have already cut them. Which means you're sandwich is not going to be soggy. Same tomato makes a tasty spaghetti sauce. Stir fry, this tomato will hold up well. It's always good to litly cook your veggies and remove pan from the burner. Add this to a grill cheese sandwich, tortilla, and Great Value makes a big bag of cheese so your set to go. A cook who's a friend of mine said " these tomatoes and with a sharp knife you'll be able to cut thin slices without it falling apart or bruise it where all the juices comes out. In other words" Not messy ". It adds color to a serving dish. And You don't have to worry if You don't get it in the refrigerator right away, it can be left out.
I always get the Roma tomatoes for salsas and any Italian dish needing tomatoes, and I'm always happy with the quality - but LATELY, these Romas are looking even bigger and better than ever! They're HUGE! I'm VERY happy with these Romas!
These tomatoes are my favorite because there is no waste, they are inexpensive and they have a lot of flavor. I only use the larger tomatoes when I feel I need them because they will stay better on a sandwich like a BLT. Most of the time I cut much of that white fiber-like stuff out and you don't have a lot left for your money. I use these plum-type tomatoes for salads, tacos, Spanish omelets, etc.
I have special instructions that I need my groceries brought in my doorway due to physical issues. The driver was going to leave the groceries outside because she couldn't read the notes. She only spoke Spanish and definitely couldn't read English. What good are the notes if the person delivering my food can`t read them? I don't speak Spanish. When I spoke to her, she could barely understand me. If someone has special notes, they should be told they are there and if they can't read them, then someone should interpret for them.
The tomato is starting to rot with 2 moldy spots right on top. I wouldn't mind as much if I had 8 or more tomatoes, but I only have 2. Well, I have 1 and a half because half of this rotting one will be cut off in order for the other half to be edible. I'm disappointed in this. I don't feel well so I can't return the bad item any time soon.
BEWARE: Ordering online and having a hired Walmart Shopper to pick your order routinely results in rotten produce, crushed product and stale items. If your item is a key ingredient, now you're stuck and have to go back, defeating the whole idea of convenience. And if I have to examine every item before I except it, that too defeats the purpose. Two weeks ago a bad salad. Last week, bad bananas. Today rotten tomatoes. In the past crushed, dented cans. Lots. If I randomly pick up tomatoes, bananas, salad mix, or a can, they are almost never unacceptable. How can there routinely bad unsatisfactory product in my order if it is just random? Dumping substandard food on senior citizens is just about criminal.
Curbside order: usually great tomatoes, but these had blight that also spread to other tomatoes within hours of getting home.. tried to get a refund, but Wal.art wanted me to drive 25 miles to return to the store. Cost of gas more than the $3. If obly the app allowed for pictures so I didn't pay for crap food I can' eat.
I’m very disappointed with my recent Walmart order. The tomatoes I received were completely spoiled and rotten. They were soft, leaking, and unusable right out of the package. This is unacceptable, especially for fresh produce. I expected better quality control and proper handling. I had to throw everything away, which is a waste of both money and food. I would not recommend ordering fresh produce from here unless quality improves. Please ensure better inspection before delivery.
The tomatoes were supposed to be Roma and I received something in bad condition and really small, it’s this a joke? I never saw a Roma tomatoes that small, the person that pick my order was really doing a bad job because those are really bad tomatoes that I never saw anything like that in Walmart.
