I recently discovered this product and I think it is great! Prior to finding this product, in used to travel to a different grocery store for my fresh lettuce. The leaves consistently are fresh and crisp and almost never have brown edges. After opening, I store the loaf wrapped in paper towels in a ziplock bag, but even though I'm the only person eating a green salad (and I do make a huge salad) the lettuce never goes bad before I finish it off. The fact that the loaves are not very large probably helps insure that I consume the entire loaf before any "ageing" of the leaves occurs.
First, I don't know anyone at Rocco's, never worked for them and have no clue where in Colorado they are, but this romaine lettuce is amazing, huge and well priced. I'm very happy it's from Colorado and hope they didn't have a hard time harvesting, in light of what a lot of farmers are facing. Keep growing this lettuce! I buy it every week and am one HAPPY CUSTOMER!!
Fresh. Initially limp when first got home, but just fine after rinsing, wrapping in a kitchen towel, and refrigerating for a few hours. I appreciate the effort Walmart has taken to upgrade the produce- and train the staff. This is now my go-to for produce, both organic and regular.
it should be sold by the pound. some orders come in that are half the size, but the price is the same as the bigger ones. Not to mention, I've found bad leaves, Beatles, and grasshoppers near the base. It causes more work for me due to extra washing and cleaning.
The lettuce wasn't fresh. It had started to turn brown which was apparent on the back of the clear package and on the lettuce. It also had on the front a sticker that stated it was packed on 06/06/25 which was 11 days ago. The lettuce I chose wasn't in a celephane package.
Fair, not great. A lot of brown to trim, but generally fresh-ish. Made a HUGE salad with cucumber, sweet pepper, celery, tomato and Bob's ranch dressing (really good) adding the fresh grilled chicken breast was a good idea. Some olives would have been good too, or zuccchini maybe. YUMMY and healthy
It actually wasn’t fresh. It was bagged Romaine lettuce that was black and wilted. It really would be nice if the shoppers could communicate and speak to the buyers as they’re shopping. I know they do that by texting. But I can’t understand Spanish text. I’m thankful for delivery service however it could improve. Shoppers need to use common sense when it comes to Bad produce, dairy, meats.
Not so fresh, the bottom portion where the stem is cut had slimy brown parts. The rest of the lettuce was going bad, it had brown and dark spots all throughout. The only fresh part was the inside of the Romaine lettuce, ONLY a small portion was consumable.
I ordered two head of romaine lettuce. I received the tiniest head of romaine and a tiny head of green left lettuce. Green left lettuce and romaine ARE NOT the same. I have also had this happen in pick up. Train you people to read the package and that they are not the same.
Romane lettuce was not fresh from the outside, and the shopper couldn't have missed seeing that brown slime trough the plastic bag it was sold in. this is the first time I've seen this with the romaine lettuce. The store may have been low on this item on a Sunday evening.
