Fresh Sage used in cooking

anonymous May 11, 2026

Beautiful fresh sage. Has a lot of flavor. A nice size with plenty of young leaves. I went ahead and separated the leaves from the stems and cut large lives. I then place just enough for one meal per ice cub compartment of ice cub tray. .frozen Fill with water. in an ice cube tray. I will use them as needed. I put in each compartment about what I expect to use for one recipe. I use them in liver and onions and gravy. The sage gives the liver and the gravy a wonderful aroma, completing the dish. I prefers calf liver, which I cut into bite size. Thinly sliced onion which get started in olive oil or butter, allowing them to cook to almost done. Remove the onions and keep warm. Heat olive oil, add chopped sage leaves and allow them to wilt, but don't burn. Add the liver and come to medium high , turning quickly until liver changes color from dark red to light brown. Add salt, pepper and stir, add onions. Set aside, stove turned off. Hopefully you have cooked everything you want to serve along with the liver AND have gravy ready. Just before serving add gray to the liver stire carefully and serve. Enjoy. 😀 Did you note the soft flavor from your sage? Wonderful without overpowering. If you are new to sage, use about a tbsp leaves cut small allow them to wilt in butter or oil on med. to low heat until wilted before adding the liver. This way the sage flavor will just touch the fresh liver while cooking. Don't ever overcook your liver! Enjoy

Consistenly the best freshest herbs

e February 6, 2026

I always buy their fresh clamshell herbs. Havent had even one issue with them ever. When I get them I cut them all up, add a dozen more herbs/seasonings/onions/garlic/vegetables etc a big freezer bag. Then I process it all with olive oil into a puree, thenpour into freezer cubes. When frozen, pop them out, put in freezer bags ! When I cook, I take a large cube or two, into the pan/dutch etc Im using and thats it !!! No chopping two dozen items anymore. Cuts my prep time a minute. LOL..believe me it works perfectly !

Fresh, Fragrant %26 Great Quality

DealSnatcherMode June 15, 2026

I ordered this fresh sage through Walmart pickup and was very impressed with the quality. The leaves were fresh, vibrant, and not wilted at all. As soon as I opened the package, the aroma was wonderful and exactly what you want from fresh herbs. It added great flavor to my recipe and stayed fresh in the refrigerator longer than I expected. I would definitely purchase this again and highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys cooking with fresh herbs.

Choose wisely

Craig June 7, 2026

Clamshell herbs are a roll of the dice at Walmart. They can be fresh and green or dark and even rotting, especially when ordered for delivery and the picker is not careful. Still, produce mgr should not be putting out stuff clearly past its prime.

Pick this out for yourself ❤️

Tamara April 11, 2026

This is a product that you should go into the store to purchase. It's been more than once that I've purchased this for delivery and there was mold on the leaves or they looked like they were hit with frost. It wasn't fresh smelling it smelt like it sat for a while ,so I would recommend going in and picking this product out instead of having it delivered.

This isn't sage. Not sure what it is or where it came from, but it has almost zero aroma and almost zero flavor and taste. I dry sage for tea and bought several of these. Never again. I'll go to my expensive organic store and buy real sage. So disappointed, because everything I normally buy is really terrific. Find another supplier for your sage.

This was a delivery order and the Sage was gross and brown. No surprise since the date on the package was 3/11 and it was delivered 5/13. The shoppers are not to blame for this. I get expired product all the time and its Walmarts responsibility to remove expired product from shelves. I already buy a lot of produce elsewhere for that reason.

Celine July 29, 2025

this happened more than a month ago with the thyme and sage now last week i ordered a green thermos and it arrived last thursday. then you sent.me an ugly blue one which arrived yesterday. n i had to go through the agravation of getting a print out label which i dont know how to do. my daughter from N.C. happened to be here and knew how to get it for me. im 84 and in a wheel chair i dont drive so taking it to a store is out. and i cant afford to keep it. it was your mistake and I called and told n you not to send that ugly blue thermos last week when I saw it posted on my account, and you sent it anyway, and left me with the aggravation of returning it . my daughter leaves next week and won't be here to fix your mistskes.
