The mushrooms in the back are always the freshest and they're delicious. I use them when I make Pasta and sauce or my wonderful SPAM Casserole. Mushrooms just add a distinctive flavor to any dish you make. Or you can just add them to a frozen pizza. Mmmm Mmmm Good!
I love how convenient the pre sliced mushrooms are after a busy day! Perfect for stir frys, omelets and pasta dishes. I received these in a Walmart delivery. I only gave it 4 stars because it was a package that wasn't as fresh as one I would have picked. I will try them again and if I have a different opinion I will update my review. Affordable on a family budget.
The one thing I don't like is that the sliced mushrooms are not washed . Many other retailers have sliced mushrooms and they are washed , which only makes sense.
I stir , sautéed next day but had turned to dark and not good flavor. Removed and able to continue with good shrimp meal. This is not happening very time, so giving a 4. star.
The mushrooms I had delivered were absolutely disgusting and should’ve been pulled off the shelves, they were slimy and dark brown/black. The should make employees watch a video about how to pick fresh good produce. This is really upsetting considering the amount of money I spent on this order and I get more than half of my food from the produce section
I placed a pickup order, and a 16 ounce package of “fresh” pre-sliced mushrooms was part of the order. When the staff member and I were putting my items in my trunk, I saw the package of mushrooms and felt sick. I said nothing to the employee. I knew I’d have to GO INTO THE STORE for an exchange or refund. It’s happened plenty of times before. If the item they bring out is unsatisfactory or incorrect, they won’t go back in and replace it with the correct/a better item. As the customer, I’ve always had to go INTO THE STORE and make the switch myself. Meanwhile….The whole purpose behind ordering groceries online for pickup is to AVOID going into the store! The package of sliced mushrooms they brought me in my pickup order was well past its prime. The mushrooms were dark brown, slimy, shriveled, and rotten. The people inside Walmart at the courtesy desk were unsurprised and unconcerned. I had to go myself and find another pack of mushrooms to exchange for the rotten pack. The worst part is that ALL of the 16 ounce packages of sliced fresh mushrooms looked disgusting. I had to buy two 8 ounce packages instead. How does the store manager let things get to that point? How can anyone think it’s okay for a personal shopper to put rotten produce into an order that a customer has paid good money for? Is there no sense of pride in anything anymore?
All mushrooms I have purchased for pickup in the past 4 months have been spoiled or almost at the point of spoiling. It's almost like the order pickers have been told to pull the worst looking product they can. It has not only been mushrooms, but almost all meats and all produce. I have almost totally stopped getting produce and any meat market products here. Mushrooms packages have changed and take up more room, and I'm not sure if the packaging may be part of the spoilage problem. I have gotten a pack that looked semi-good, then next day open package to use, and the bottom layer be slimy and the whole package stinking.
I ordered a 16oz package of sliced white mushrooms. Which I notice it also says freshness guaranteed. What I received is a 16oz package of brown shriveled up mushrooms, not at all fresh. Not what I paid for at all! I rarely have issues with Walmart, but , this time someone really didn’t care. I am physically unable to go out shopping for myself so I feel if I use this service , the products should be chosen with the same care as if the order was for whoever chose the items. Not a happy customer.
I’m not understanding why they changed the container but I do believe that has a lot to do with why the mushrooms are not lasting as long or the manufacturer they changed to. I don’t know if they’re absolutely horrible when I get them moldy, nasty stinky smelly slimy this makes the last three times. A lot of their photos is turning me off and this is Just pushing me further and further over the hill. The blue container mushrooms were OK. I could deal with them, but these mushrooms that are not in the blue container. They are horrible. wish you were here to smell the fishy smell.
You have to wash these sliced mushrooms before use. Which seems to imply that the company slices through dirty mushrooms, spreading whatever contaminate were supposed to wash off, through each mushroom and onto every single slice.
