Fresh Step Odor Shield Light Weight Multi-Cat Clumping Cat Litter, Gain Original Scent, 11.5 lb Jug

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always loved fresh step and abused it for years, but this new lighter weight formula is wonderful. The jug was easy to carry, and it was easy to pour into his box easy to scoop and easy to clean. It hides odors very well and absorbs for a long time I think it’s a great product. I’ve used it for years and I highly recommend it to anybody.

Our 5 cats have been using Fresh Step for may years but this new formula is even better! It has a gentle scent with Febreeze and is easy to carry and fill our multiple boxes with. The cats went right to it and seem to approve! Plus it’s easier to get all of the litter out of the container and into the boxes with the easy pour system. We give it 2 paws up and will be using this from now on!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a great product. I can lift it with one hand so easily and it still does such a great job with clumping. I am a big fan of Febreze and this Odor Shield is scrumptious - I wish all my clothes smelled like this! Seriously!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Fresh Step Odor Shield Lightweight with Gain litter as a complimentary sample to test and review. Unfortunately, this was no different than any other cat litter. The clumping was barely there, and there was NO odor shield whatsoever. I was highly disappointed as I thought that with the Gain added in it, it would make a difference. It tracked everywhere, as you can see in the video.

It would be ok if it weren't for the overwhelming scent. It is the texture of sand, so does get pretty dusty when you're pouring it, but settles down soon after. But the scent is so overpowering that I actually choked on it. I kept it down for one day, hoping it would wear off a bit, but when I scooped it the next day, it was just as bad. I ended up having to dump the entire thing out and refilled it with a different brand. If you're ok with heavy scents, it would probably be fine. I used to use Fresh Step until it got too heavy for me, so I was glad to see it in a leightweight jug, but didn't realize it was scented. I would buy it again if it were unscented and in a jug.

This is my first time purchasing this type of clumping litter. I am very disappointed. Because I use fresh step, but not this one. It’s horrible it doesn’t last long say two weeks. It says powerful odor control. If that means smelling litter throughout the house all day long. Then I pass. The low tracking and low dust is false advertising. Check my video. I have two favorites on the litter and they are always unavailable online.this was waste of my money. I don’t recommend this crap. The only thing is true about this is it is lightweight. Trash . I had a video, but it wouldn’t let me post it. So I took pictures from the video the best I could. I’m worried my cat will get pink eye, or some type of eye infection. Just a touch makes the litter completely dusty. This is ridiculous and it stinks.

absolutely the worst 😫 my cat almost 20 congested now and when i say dusty wow ive never seen so much dust and the the smell on her after use overwhelming,bath to get off her, and respiratory meds , i absolutely do not recommend this to any animal lovers ! this should be off market 😒

I’m very disappointed with this litter. I’ve been buying a different light weight formula in the cardboard box but wasn’t able to get it this time. I’m not sure if they’ve discontinued it or if the store is out of stock. I got this one because it was supposed to be similar but the only similarity is that it’s light weight. It doesn’t smell the same, the particles are finer and the clumps fall apart!!!’ I never had that problem with the other litter. I will definitely be trying something different next time if I can’t get the original lightweight litter I was getting. I also don’t like the plastic container. I liked the idea that the cardboard box won’t still be sitting in a landfill 20 years from now.

Go back to the old formula. I used it for years, and it worked perfectly. When it became unavailable, I tried this version thinking it was a replacement, and it’s awful. It doesn’t clump at all, urine pools at the bottom of the litter box, and the ammonia smell is overwhelming. I bought two boxes at once, which turned out to be a complete waste of money. I’ve already switched brands and found something that actually works.

So disappointed. One of the worst Cat litter products that I’ve tried. I rarely buy any lightweight liter but decided to try this because I’m unable to handle regular liter because of the weight. I really like Fresh Step products for both low dust and scoop ability, but this lightweight falls short on both. Sooo much dust my cat didn’t want to us her liter box and everything in the laundry room was covered after a few days. Will continue to buy the regular weight Fresh Step Extreme Multi-cat w/fabreeze which works best for me and my Roux girl. Will NEVER buy this product again. .
