I get these delivered and I never know what I"m going to receive. Sometimes it's a huge ear...sometimes it's smaller; but they're always good. So really can't complain. Walmart website should add a 'notes' section for variable items like these and other produce and meats so I can enter stuff like: "large ears, please" or "heavier cuts" or "green avocados, please", etc.
I Buy 4 ears of fresh corn every week. Some weeks the shucks are green and other times the ears are very small and the corn is not very good or tasty. When the corn shucks are green and full the corn is firm and delicious . If were to shop for someone, I would choose the best in the display. I think I am generous with a 4 star rating. Tomatoes and fresh fruit should be selected in the same way.
Have fixed 6 of the 12 ears of corn I bought. They have been so-so. Not as good as what I got for 4th of July. Some ears are bicolor, some white corn. Can't remember if they were advertised as bicolor or not. Neither happy or sad at this time with purchase. Six more ears to go. May change my mind.
Awful. Do not buy through delivery due to the fact that this corn currently offered as of 2/21, is tiny and dried out and the delivery picker is only filling the order. If you see this corn, you will not buy it. Walmart should not be selling this pitiful corn.
Due to the fact that I am disabled, physically shopping in Walmart is no longer an option for me. I place my order online and pick it up. I'm at the mercy of the shopper assigned to my order to know when an item is past the point of being sellable. I ordered 2 sweet corn from the produce department today. When I opened the bag to remove the corn and place in the crisper I couldn't believe the quality of the corn. The husks were dryed out and covered in mold. Hard to believe that produce of this poor quality was still on the shelf available for purchase. But what's more unbelievable is the shopper assigned to my order felt this quality was acceptable and put them in my cart. I can't help but to wonder if they would have purchased these 2 sweet corn to feed their family!
From now on I will only buy corn on the cob when I see it in person. This batch of 6 were gray, frazzled and looked terrible. I cooked one just to give it a chance and it was rubbery. I am usually quite satisfied with the produce selections and I fault the store for selling such poor quality produce- not the shopper who probably had those as their only option to fill the order.
Small and rubbery. Shoppers need to shop like they were buying for themselves and care a little about what products they pick out for the customer. If they wouldn’t buy it don’t pick it out for the customer. Mainly in produce and how fresh it is and ripe it is
I ordered 4 online, then I threw them on BBQ to cook them on the grill. but one I brought them in for dinner I peeled them open and doing a colony of caterpillars in them 😳😭. I felt mad, bad, and disgusted at the same time. I really wish the shopper would have checked before delivering. even if I checked before I grilled still wouldn't have mattered cause I'd still be upset about finding them crawling around inside 3 of the 4 I bought.
This corn was inedible ! I know it’s early in the season but why sell it when it had hard kernels, mold, and bugs on it! Produce, especially romaine hearts, are often less than par. I do not have the same complaint with another local grocery store’s produce. Maybe you need new suppliers. I depend on Walmart delivery as I am elderly and no longer drive. It is very disappointing to have a product’s quality be a guessing game.
The ears were very, very, very small. They were not ripe honestly didn't seem like they were even time to be picked and put into a store to be sold. However, I don't know if Walmart has shoppers or if the driver is the shopper. Picking good produce isn't easy if you've never done it before. It certainly seems like everyone has had corn on the cob. Very unhappy with the corn and will be returning it to the store.
