I love onions and use them in several different dishes. I so usually buy the red onions, but lately those have been looking really bad. Sweet onions is exactly what this is. You can sit there and slice these for burgers, salads, whatever you using them for and eat them as you slicing and keep coming back for more. They are great on burgers, they really make that tomato sandwich pop I think. Vidalia sweet 100% in my opinion, worth the cost and make any dish taste great with that nice sweet crunch.
…yes, I actually visited Vidalia, GA in 1987. The Vidalia onions have a reputation for their sweetness, and when I had a guy at a roadside stand throw a cut up Vidalia onion into a frying pan with grub steak - whoa. When cooked, the onions are almost buttery with sweetness. Nowadays, we’re getting a lot of our produce from Mexico and other places South… and store bought onions are basically the same in consistency, but the onions that are called ‘sweet’ now aren’t shaped like a squashed pear like the original Vidalia onions are, so you can’t expect produce grown in Chile to have Vidalia onions’ characteristics. Maybe they’re a crossed strain to get ‘sweetness.’ These sweet onions will have to suffice.
I purchase these all the time because i like sweet onions. The last few times that I have purchased them, there have been rotten ones in the bag. Remind your shoppers that im sure they wouldn't purchase rotted food for themselves to eat, so why pick out for your customers.
One onion in the bag must have been rotting when I received the order. When I opened the bag just now, there is one onion in really bad shape, only a couple are any good, so, I’m going to use them. Maybe, you could check products before sending them out for delivery. I love that convenience.
Out of 8 onions 4 were bad. Very disappointed because when I shop I make sure the produce isn’t rotten in the bags. Who ever picked the groceries for me didn’t take care that my items were of good quality. I need them for canning my sauce and this is what I have. I would like a new bag of good onions that aren’t rotten in the bags. Usually my groceries are good. Looks like someone was in a hurry and didn’t really care about treating the customers properly.
This is the third time I’ve received something that was rotten, but although I’m expected to bring this back into the store in order to receive a refund for something that was delivered to me that was no good. Thank goodness I checked the whole bag only to find out how bad all of the onions were so please refund my money and trust that I will not be buying these again from Walmart shopping center.
Onions among other produce has been particularly bad lately. Opened up a brand new bag and the very first onion I took out and cut, was rotten in the middle.
Once again, Walmart picks out some of the worst produce I have ever seen and gives it to the people that buy their groceries online. This one is a real crowd pleaser. I bought these 2 days ago.
I live right across the street from the store on Forest lane .. I have been ordering pick up from this store all those years but today they told my daughter we couldnt order to pick up anymore unless we get a car ???? REALLY ? SHE TAKES A BIG WAGON THAT we have to get the groceries .. is there now SOMETHING WRONG WITH THAT ???
I did not order yellow onions. They are too sweet for the meals I make. I mostly use white onions. When I was asked to substitute I makes “no”. I then requested three white onions. Yellow onions are specific to certain cooking. I just do not use them.
