Mushrooms are so healthy and good for you ( and me). They are basically a superfood. I'm trying to eat them as much as possible. So many ways to cook them. They can be prepared to substitute for meat. And no, eating meat products every day is really NOT good for you…
We love and always buy these 16 oz mushrooms. We use them for breakfast, with fettuccine and shrimp, stews, chicken in sauces etc. every week this item is in our fridge and always gets used. Sometimes I cut them small or big chunky size and they cook up perfectly and are delicious. So a big fat yes for us!
I love these mushrooms but when i do p/u or delivery sometimes the shoppers don't pay any attention %26 they give me wet kind of slimy ones. They still taste fine but its kind of funky 🤪 Plus Walmart!! Pay attention to what you put under sprinklers!!! I constantly see things like this getting sprinkled on %26 getting wet...ick!
Preparing these mushrooms, brushing off the soil with a soft brush, I noticed the brown color was coming off, leaving a white mushroom underneath. So I wonder, are all brown mushrooms like this- white when you clean them, or does this mushroom grower sray white mushrooms with a brown dye? Other than the color, the mushrooms were firm and sliced nicely, added texture to a soup. I'll stick to creminis and shitakis.
This is an issue for those associates picking the order. Some of the mushrooms were turned or turning. Slimy. I needed them for a recipe and so used what I could, but if I had selected them myself, I think I would have noticed that the top layer were darker in color and were bruised and/or turned.
These mushrooms were covered with a material with holes. Which allows water to penetrate when they water the vegetables. Therefore it causes discoloration, a slimy texture, and rapid spoilage due to bacterial and mold growth. I bought mushroom before and never had this problem. They need to change location for this item or quit watering because there was water and condensation in the package. NOT GOOD.
These mushrooms look like they're two weeks old. I had them delivered, and this is about three hours after they came to my door. As you can see, they are all different sizes, which means that they are gonna cook differently. The tops of them are disgusting.
I've bought these mushrooms more than once, delivery %26 in person. They are slimy on the bottom and smell like they've gone bad, and with the slim rot on the bottom, it's obvious that Walmart is either incorrectly storing these or is accepting bad load deliveries.
WalMart instructs their shoppers to send the rotten produce to delivery customers knowing that the onus will be on the customer to correct the "mistake" (its not really a mistake when done on purpose). I have heard they have this practice from multiple WalMart employees. Given how they do things it is no surprise, it fits their ethics. That being the case my mushrooms felt like a wet sponge, had black stems and smelled like urine due to ammonia build up from the advanced stage of decomposition. I have never seen a company do all that WalMart does to scam its repeat customers. They know their customer base is often impoverished and can not afford to shop at the alternatives that are honest. So there is no incentive to get their act together. I have started reporting instances of rotten and potentially unsafe produce to the local health department. I suggest you do the same.
It would've been nice if we received purchased item. This has happened more times than we can count. When we order steaks, burgers, especially, they don't get delivered. Hmmmm, looks like someone is thieving, no? Walmart needs a better system so they know who is doing the thieving. IF, and that's a big IF, IF the items are checked, before they leave the store, and they most likely aren't, to make sure said order is accounted for, no missing items, but i know, that prob takes too much time. And, ty so much, Rob, in CS, whom said we shall be receiving a 10% discount coupon for said incident, which we never received. I fully understand, a trillion-dollar Co. not wanting to give a 10% discount to a regular customer. I hadn't expected anything other. I couldn't leave a review on said steaks because my roommate already did. So, i made one on the mushrooms, which we never received along with the steaks.
