I picked up a super fresh head of Napa cabbage from Walmart (seriously, the produce section keeps getting better!) because I wanted to try my hand at making kimchi at home. Let me tell you, it was an absolute hit! Here’s how I did it: After peeling off the outer crust of leaves (you know, sometimes you gotta do a little growing clean-up), I chopped up the cabbage and mixed in all the classic ingredients from an old Korean recipe—think sea salt, chili flakes, garlic, ginger, and scallions. But the fun part? I added a sweet little twist: just a touch of honey and a sprinkle of shredded pears for an extra layer of tangy-sweet flavor. It gave the kimchi a unique kick that makes it stand out. If you’ve been thinking about trying to make kimchi at home, grab your cabbage from Walmart and go for it! The high quality of the produce makes a real difference. Plus, it’s a fun way to get the kids involved in the kitchen (they love helping with the peeling and mixing). Homemade kimchi is healthy, budget-friendly, and perfect with any meal—especially when it’s made with Walmart’s freshest picks. Give it a try—you’ll love the flavors, and your family will too. Kimchi night just got a whole lot better!
OMG this cabbage was so good I bought it last week and again today. I started using this cabbage instead of bread I made fish rolls , ceviche rolls ,taco rolls tuna rolls, ham and cheese all rolled in the cabbage 🤤 of and scrambled eggs with sausage rolls of course in separate occasions. I even put pico de gayo rolled it up and dipped it in avocado dip cups so good and healthy option. And I lost 8 lbs in 1 week it also help me digest better!
crisp and delicious for days. i like this cabbage over others. i struggle with false teeth and chewing. this was easy to chew. i made stuffed cabbage rolls with it. sprinkled crushed cashews and hot honey on top of them and you have the best meal for a long day.
Replace your lettuce with cabbage on a sandwich, add it to your lettuce salad and wake up the flavors in your mouth, refreshing change to taco shells or sandwich breads, and roll it around ground meat and create a meal with GREENS instead of pasta. So many tasty, healthy choices to make with this delicious cabbage.
For the most part, the person who picks this for me I’ll always picks what I would probably pick if I were in the store myself. A large NAPA cabbage with darker leaves. When they don’t have those available, they still pick me a decent sized
another product that's hit and miss I've received it when it's been fresh like it was just picked and I've received it when it is Way beyond it's freshness and unedible. but since they jacked the price up on it I no longer buy it from Walmart and now I actually buy it from a local farmer. Walmart needs to hire people that know how to pull bad produce off the floor and stop selling their customer rotten food. Walmart needs to quit jacking up prices on rotten food they need to quit jacking up prices. because they don't need to be doing it they're doing it to gouge the customer buyer beware
The Napa Cabbage delivered was in the worst condition I have ever seen, and so small that it isn't enough for a jar of kimchi. Very disappointed. Now I have to go shopping 30 minutes away (even though I paid a long-distance delivery fee) just for napa cabbage and pay for that too.
Whoever picked this Napa cabbage must be blind because it’s obviously ROTTEN! $4.35😡
Napa cabbage I was very disappointed on the size of the Napa cabbage they delivered on my last order for the price they charged. 12oz for $4.36 last order wasn’t even a lb , I picked up one a week ago that weighted almost 3 lbs. . I would have had to bought 3 -4 of them just to make kimchi for the week. I do NOT like these people and who can’t pick out fresh or even decent fruits or vegetables or even inspect the produce or products . I stop giving out tips now. Each week I place an order a seen to have a problem.
I think that employee's pulling orders need a crash course in picking produce. I bought a head of napa cabbage today...it should not even be on the produce shelf. This cabbage was wilted..outter leaves ripped...not in a plastic bag...bug spots...ughh! I understand that customers preferences are different when it comes to produce...but you should be able to tell the difference in good quality and no longer sellable! I have attached photos...it hardly looks like what your description shows.
