BOW DOWN you pathetic little earthlings! The planet of the purple people eaters have found out you are eating their breed eggs! You slice them, you dice them and cook them until they can scream no more. The great purple mother ship will appear and remove all purple seed pods from the terrible vegan earthlings and leave onion powder as earths only spice! Soylent green for earthlings......
If you like a beautiful red color in your salads and enjoy onions, these are great. For those who don't care for onions, it's likely because they don't like biting into chunks. If you don't cook with onions, you're missing out on the flavor they add to food. I recommend grating the onion instead — nobody will even know it's in there, but your food will taste so much better.
Honestly, I've never done a taste test, so I can't tell you whether a red onion tastes different from a white or yellow onion. But I can say I like the red onion for its color. It makes anything look better...whether it's a burger topping, potato salad, or something else.
I dont really know how to review an onion but I'll give it a shot. This onion had a beautiful semi round shape, slightly elongated at the ends, nice bright color, firm, and very tasty. It came with some dry protective outside skins, that when removed revealed a beautiful bright purple (NOT RED) onion. It sliced beautifully on my mandolin slicer giving me perfectly sliced rings which I used to enhance the flavor of my chicken wrap. I also added some to my salad and it was delicious. The last bit found its way into a stir fry along with some red %26 green peppers, and mushrooms. I served that on a sliced hogie bun with an Italian sausage link. Very delicious. It was the best onion I ever ate, and fear no other onion will live up to this high standard. I should probably just give up eating onions, as no other onion will ever compare. It actually brought tears to my eyes while preparing it. No doubt tears of sadness knowing this delicious onion gave its life to satisfy my hunger. I will forever honor Red's sacrifice, and remember it fondly with every future wrap, salad, and stir fry. I eat. I've added a photo of Red in happier days, just before its unselfish sacrifice. R.I.P. Red, you've gone to a far better place, my stomach, and I will sing your praises until I take my final breath.
Everything was great except for the mini cucumbers which were just garbage. They were all simply mush. They were past the pull date of 4:25 and should never have been on the shelf and were all smashed when crammed into the bag. The groceries should have been placed in an additional bag.
The onions are good. The problem I have is the size. I want the option to buy a smaller loose onion. Please mix in some smaller ones. No, I'm not going to buy a whole bag of the smaller onions just to get one because it wouldn't be possible to use enough from the bag to make it cost effective. Not everyone who shops at Walmart is cooking for a crowd.
Don't order fresh produce online for pick up. Shoppers don't care about the quality of the product they place in your order. Every time I get low quality produce (bruised or almost spoiled). I will only order frozen, canned, or packaged foods online from them and maybe not packaged produce. . .
Online order, large molded, smelly, onion, black inside was selected for me. If I could see this when I received it, in-store shopper did not care, threw it in my order anyway. Some of us don't have transportation to and from Walmart and we trust in-store shoppers to select what we ordered, intact, not expired, and choose the best packaging of what's on our list; in other words, what they would buy for themselves, their parents, or grandparents.
I wouldn't give any stars if it would let you it is disgusting that they would pick up rotten stuff and bag it and weigh it and give it to you. You know if I was a shopper for Walmart I would make sure that I shop for stuff that was not pass it day or moldy and rotten and give them to people that work hard and pay for their . It's called being lazy and disrespectful. How would you fill out your mother or grandmother put pride in your job at Walmart too better.
The shopper picked the ugliest red onion. It is also soft to touch.I would have rather they told me there wasn't any and bought somewhere else. shoppers should cautious and ask themselves if they would eat it. If you provide a service do it right. Groceries is expensive.
