I bought this white onion at Walmart because apparently my chili wasn’t sad enough. Little did I know I was bringing home a vegetable with the emotional power of a Nicholas Sparks novel. I peeled it, chopped it, and instantly began crying like I had just watched the end of Old Yeller. My wife asked why I was sobbing in the kitchen. I told her it was “just the onion,” but honestly, it may have also brought up some unresolved childhood memories. Who knew produce could double as therapy? The flavor? Exceptional. The smell? Potent enough to guarantee NO ONE will steal leftovers from the fridge. The durability? Rock solid—if vegetables could survive the apocalypse, this one’s a contender. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. But next time I’ll wear goggles, a snorkel mask, or maybe borrow the hazmat suit from the bus garage. Highly recommend this onion to anyone who enjoys great flavor, a good cry, and a vegetable with more emotional depth than most reality TV stars.
Each weekend, I steam up a pot of fresh or frozen vegetables; into the pot go frozen vegetables and half of a succulent white crisp, firm onion, neatly chopped up. After 15 minutes, I have a nutritious, colorful, tasty bowl of vegetables to form the healthy base of my meals for the rest of the week.
They asked me to write a review about an onion. A onion is neither here nor there but some where in between. Like the Twight Light zone. Think of it as an Onion that has never matured but matured and that is not in Alaska where we import our Onions like beef. Only they are onions and not beef, it is like Schrodinger's cat, does the onion exist outside the box?
Walmart, you need to train your people on how to pick fruits and vegetables. I received a white onion that was soft and had mold showing. Anyone could have seen the dark spot the size of a .50¢ piece. Come on now - and onions need to be firm not soft.
The onion I received is covered in mold, and it's clearly visible. The individuals responsible for selecting products ought to be much more careful, since this poses a risk to our health
I have bought 2 onions that have been completely molded thru every layer that I have purchased from Walmart. I have never in my life seen this. I now have had to go back and buy more.
Please teach your employees who shop how to SEE. Do you have a vision insurance? Last month I received molded strawberries and blueberries and now a molded white onion. They had to be blind or didn’t care because I had to cut over HALF of the onion to throw away before actually getting a few pieces for my hot dog. A bad onion will exhibit signs like softening, mold, dark spots, bruising, or an off-putting odor…
It not about the onion itself. it's more about the shopper's. All I needed was a very small onion and they gave me one that weighs over 1 pound! That's ridiculous. And then picking things from deli that's almost expired. There really should be a way to communicate with shopper's.
Ordered 2 white Columbia Basin onions %234663 received poor selection by shopper. They are old, soft, mildewed, skin broken, strong onion odor not safe to use or eat and I don't drive to return them to the store.
Literally has mold on it and is turning black. Not the first time I’ve gotten bad produce but I won’t bother getting anymore from Walmart again. Ask the shopper if they’d want to eat that. Delivery/pick up should not be a dumping ground for products on or past date.
