They are wonderful! It's the butter that makes them so flaky and good. I heat them on 375 for 5 minutes. They are then warm, with a just right crisp crust and a flaky, buttery interior. They are so much better than Walmart's European Style Croissants. Those have no taste at all. They are high in calories, so I don't buy them often, but when I want a croissant, I want an all-butter, delicious one and this is it.
These could be better; the "Product of France" 8 all-butter croissants for $3.98 were PERFECT: light, airy and yummy. The 6 or 12 small all-butter croissants or 4 larger all-butter croissants, that taste like paper mâché are also for $3.98 so you get 4 bad crossants for the price of 8 good ones. On top of that these new ones are not real croissants: they may have butter but the dough making technique is all wrong so they are dense and heavy like hot dog buns and the crust is not light and flaky like real croissants. The reason given was that they didn't sell fast enough. I used to buy 3 or four boxes of eight and freeze them all, then reheat them as needed- a few seconds microwave on each side and then 30 seconds on each side in the toaster or oven or grill. We used to eat them every morning with our lattées. My Marine hubby says; "The new packaging is better but I don't eat packaging.". It's true that people who don't know croissants would not be tempted to buy them in the brown box with the typed label, lost among other stuff next to the roast chickens.
