Freshness Guaranteed Butter Pound Cake Loaf, 12 oz (Shelf Stable)

Pleasantly surprised, this little bakery baked loaf was pnenomenal. Rich buttery flavor, not TOO sweet. Perfect with a dab of jam and whip cream for a richer treat if wanted. My fav, raspberry preserves made without sugar. But any would be great to dress it up for a treat, dessert.

it was not a lb. but it is called lb. cake. kinda like Greenland is icy and Iceland is green. it seems to have an almost angel food cake texture but heavier. makes strawberry short cake super yummy. search Facebook for easy strawberry shortcake recipes. thats a great starting point. bon apetit!

I consider whole grain baked goods first but sometimes I slip and go for the unhealthy fiber free high fat bleached white flour items like this for strawberry shortcake. For a healthy strawberry dessert use whole grain toasted waffles which add a nice crunchy texture to the dish while doubling the nutrition and lowering the calories. Might as well buy the GV brand which costs the least and it avoids the additional waste of an aluminum foil pan. The plastic shell is a bad idea too, it is a hassle to save for a recycling run. Poundcake sold in a paper liner and thin plastic wrapper is the most responsible consumer choice when we insist on unhealthy foods. I wish Walmart would consider that more sustainable packaging.

Very tasty, fresh, with great pound cake consistency. Just so delightful when added few sliced strawberries on a slice or other fruit. Will most definitely be on my shopping list. The loaf size is perfect. Slice off what want, 1 slice, 2 ,etc. and rest of loaf ready and waiting next visit !!! Try it you'll like it!!

The food delivered was exactly as I had ordered it. The produce was selected well. The baked goods were all baked today. The prepared foods were hot, at least warm. I couldn't be happier, and the delivery was within four minutes of the estimated time given. Can you beat that Walmart, you're doing a great job. If Jeff Bezos isn't careful, he's gonna lose a substantial market share to Walmart and it's excellent service. Add a boy guys!

The look and the taste was ok. Next time I will make my own as this size has shrunk 5 times smaller then one you can make. I had a party of five and served this cake with strawberries and cool whip. I was so embarrassed because what I offered them were child like portions. Thanks Walmart for yet another food product that you have made for children size and selling it for way to much, I will never fall for that again!

previous purchases were fine. this review is for this cake bought on Oct 2025. Ridiculously, stupidly Sweet, to point of being distasteful. The texture is a wet Dense it's difficult to clean the fork while eating. These extremes are probably to compensate for the tiny loaf. It just looks edible.

( Bitter Bite) Years ago this was an acceptablè last min. subsitute product for a fresh lb. cake. This product somewhere in that time-span changed taste dramaticaĺly. It's almost bitter sweet like sugar subsitute. also not real buttery anymore. unpleasant to eat. I threw it away.

This is a tiny pound cake, was so surprised at how small it is. I buy pound cakes from a different grocery store (regularly) and theirs are twice as big, at the SAME price. I can't share this with my son, there's not enough to share. I won't buy it again.
