The freshness label showed it was good for another week, but these have clearly aged for MUCH longer. They don't get this way overnight. Guaranteed Freshness is a tagline, NOT an actual fact. I tore one apart and posted below so you could see there is almost no filling. Explains why it dried out. Note there is ZERO cherries in this. Just dried up goo. To return this garbage to the store would be more inconvenience than I care to add on. Don't waste your money; Read the other negative reviews!
This pastry leaves alot to be desired. The filing is barely there, and the pastry is thick and chewy. It should be light and fluffy with alot of filling.
It's seldom I find something I don't care for, but these "cherry" turnovers meet that criterium. The ones I puchased were all puff pastry, but extremely heavy, tough, and chewey rather than tender and light. As for cherry filling! There was just a hint of something red. It might have been cherry, but there was so little that it was hard to tell. These turnovers had little flavor and to call them cherry was more wishful thinking than actuality. I kept looking for the filling, but it was mostly pixie dust -- if that large an amount. These were a major disappointment and certainly nowhere near worth the rather high price. I certainly won't be buying them again nor will I be recommending them.
They're still good, but texture is wrong, feels rubbery, hard to chew. Just has a smear of strawberry flavor, can really almost imagine there's filling in it, and it's definitely strawberry not cherry. Lower rating because they are so much less than what they used to be.
So nasty, there’s no cherries, they put some red goo in the middle now , and the outside supposed to be crunchy, but Walmart can’t figure that out! Put real cherries in them you are so cheap. Your customers are paying for air. Make them crunchy like they’re meant to be and put a little more sugar on top. Walmart, bakery items are awful.
Cherry turnovers are one of my favorites. This brand, however, was a waste of my money. The texture of the pastry was tough—too tough for my teeth. So I peeled the bottom off to concentrate on the softer pastry and cherry filling. Unfortunately, there couldn’t have been more than a teaspoon of filling in the whole turnover. I actually had a jar of Smuckers cherry preserves that I smeared on the turnover just to satisfy my cherry craving. Won’t be wasting any more money on these again.
You expect a cherry turnover to be a top crust and a bottom crust with filling in between. Well, this product has a top crust no filling and in the middle of the bottom crust there is a smear of cherry jam like substance.
If I can give these a zero I would. They are soggy and disgusting. The Best Buy date was today. I wouldn’t have picked it, but I did an online order. So you could tell the staff don’t care about the food they pick up for people. The turnover wasn’t flaky like turnovers were supposed to be. It was mush. The cherry, whatever you wanna call it was no cherry filling. It was just discolored red pink colored disgustingness. I wish I would’ve read reviews before I bought it so unhappy.
Worst turnover. Soggy, off tasting filling. Left my stomach upset. Expiration date was 4 days away. I expected it was ok but I will never buy these again.
I did not receive what i ordered. I got out of date reduced prices but still got charged for fresh price. Instead of 2 cherry I got 1 apple and 1 cherry.
