They use a butter flavored oil that has a heavy chemical taste %26 no flavor. Not like their old garlic bread. VERY artificial taste now. Almost like crisco butter flavored vegetable oil lard. The actual bread is good but it is ruined by the topping.
I ordered Walmart delivery. I timed it perfectly so the garlic bread would come right before dinner was finished. I opened the bread and it was covered in mold. When purchasing this product, make sure to check the expiration date. The date on the bread said today, so I'm assuming the person who picked the order figured it was still good. Honestly, I probably would have thought the same.
We purchased 3 loaves of this bread on Thursday, 7/24 for a large family gathering. We put it in the oven as directed and opened all three loaves - MOLD EVERYWHERE! Mold all over the top and the bottom of all three loaves. The family dinner was today, 7/27. The bread should have been fresh -- it says freshness guaranteed.
Didn’t get to try because it had mold on it — at first I thought it was maybe some herbs but after cutting it through it, it was definitely mold. Threw away will be more selective from now on with where I get garlic bread from. It says it was packed on 5/23/25 and to make by 5/26/25 but I bought it on 5/25 and had mold on it already.
This is the 2nd time I have received moldy bread! The first time, I went to use it the day after I received it. and there was a bunch of mold. So, when I ordered it on July 11th, 2025. I immediately put it in the freezer, because I didn't plan to use it right away. I just took it out of the freezer, and opened the package, so that I could make it with tonight's dinner. and the frozen loaf was moldy! You need to stop giving it such a long shelf life in the store! It does not keep!! And then when ya'll decide to give me the loaf closest to the darn expiration date, I get moldy bread! I said the same thing about changing the shelf life last time. Ya'll, we are in the Midwest!! The humidity messes with the bread shelf life. Please tell me ya'll know this?
This was completely covered in mold and rotten. It was in an opaque bag, so no way to know until I had our spaghetti all ready and pulled it out the bag to put in the oven and COVERED in green mold. Totally unacceptable, but Im not saving it and wasting my time taking it back for $2.00. Walmart wins on this one. Not happy.
On Saturday, I ordered 2 loaves of garlic bread. However, when I came to pick them up, I was given only 1 loaf and was told there were no more available. Later, when I went inside the store, I saw 4 loaves on the shelf and decided to purchase one. The loaf I bought directly from the store was fresh, soft, and delicious. Unfortunately, the loaf that was handed to me with my order was already moldy and very hard, so I had to throw it away. I was quite disappointed by this experience.
The garlic bread came with mold covering the whole loaf. If I would have gone into the kitchen in the low light I usually have at night I wouldn’t have seen the mold and ate what was in the package. I believe I would have gotten sick.
i bought this on april 19, it was packed on april 17, and best if used by april 20, which is today… and there is mold on the bread. not buying this one again!!!
I bought this bread 5/24/26 and it was delivered the same day. It came taped closed and ready to bake. I placed it in oven to bake 7-9 minutes. Upon taking it out and proceeding to cut it I noticed they had mold all over the bread. I threw away a whole loaf I just paid for.
