I picked up this 3lb bag of Granny Smith apples and was really happy with the quality. The apples were crisp, tart, and fresh — exactly what you’d hope for with this variety. None of them were bruised or soft, and they had a good, firm texture that held up well whether I was snacking on them raw or slicing them for a salad. They also had a great shelf life. I kept them in the fridge for over a week and they stayed just as firm and bright green as the day I bought them. Perfect balance of tartness and a slight sweetness, making them ideal for both eating fresh and baking. Would definitely buy this bag again — solid value for the price and great quality produce.
they taste good as Granny Smith do I enjoy them with a little bit of fruit and cheese on the side and I'll pair them with some strawberries and some white sharp cheddar Walmart brand and I might throw a few green olives on the side and perhaps some butter crackers if I feel the need
Love the tart flavor of these Granny Smith apples! They keep well in the frig and are so crisp! I cut the peel off, cut in slices and take them to someone I visit in a care home. Since they don't serve much fresh fruit there, I feel like this is a good snack and helps clean the teeth.
The apples themselves were fine after I got them out of the plastic bag. They seem to have gotten a oily film on them and they were really small like the first apples on the tree and were picked before they could fill out. I will not purchase them anymore due to the funny film that they were coated with.
Fresh, firm, and exactly what you'd expect from a good Granny Smith. The quality was solid and the apples were clearly fresh, which makes a big difference with any produce purchase. Now, full disclosure: Granny Smith isn't my personal go-to variety. They're on the tart side, which is just the nature of this apple. That's not a knock on the product at all, if you love that sharp, tangy bite, these will hit the spot. It's purely a matter of personal taste, and plenty of people seek out Granny Smith specifically for that bold flavor. The price was reasonable for what you get, which is always a plus. Whether you're eating them fresh, baking them into a pie, or dipping them in caramel, they're a dependable choice. Good quality, fair value, and a classic apple that does what it's supposed to do.
Crisp refreshing taste. Sometimes the bag contains bruised fruit. I also wish the apples didn't contain such a waxy coat on the skin. The waxy coat is typical of all apples in the United States unless purchased at a farmers market or directly from the orchard.
I've ordered the 3 lb bag of Granny Smith apples multiple times through curbside pickup, and they've always been fresh and in great condition. The apples are crisp, tart, and have really good flavor. I appreciate that the curbside shoppers seem to actually pick quality produce because I haven't had issues with bruised or bad apples. Great for snacks, baking, or caramel apples. Definitely happy with them.
These have always tended to taste old and lack flavor and dry out very quickly. I'd say they're decent for baking since you're gonna be adding flavor and sugar. Other than that I don't recommend. I'd say splurge the little extra and buy the single larger granny Smith apples. I don't recommend.
I have ordered apples many times from Walmart and they always have arrived in good condition, however this time they were so bruises I had to cut the bruised areas off and lost a lot of the apples. I have never received apples this bruises. Both the Granny Smiths and the Pink ladies. Makes me wonder about how they were transported. ie: just thrown in the car and banged around. Don't know but all 4 bags were extremely bruised on multiple sides of pretty much all the apples.
I order this apples. 3 lbs of apples. In fact because I have a surgery And husband pick up for me. Curve side. And they come from 9 very small apples. About 8 there bad apples 🍏 😥 I have a hip surgery. I’m sure they will return the 4 dlls. With not problem. Just disappointed but I know happen .. almost Every apple his bad. Or scratch I take the picture the same day they come.
