They were out of the usual buns I get so got this substituted, they are big enough to use for sandwich buns and the top of the bread has a "crust." I cut them in half and put them in my wide slot toaster for a few minutes before using. Quite acceptable as sandwich buns and the price is pretty good for a dozen. Would buy these again.
Being from Philadelphia, I am spoiled. For they make the best Italian breads and rolls. I've tried local bakery brands available in the market and they aren't any better than these and charge more. Amoroso rolls are the best out there but, these are almost close. Not gummy, or heavy. Almost crusty enough. Don't fall apart.
I love the hard rolls and I always have them in the freezer. I take them from the freezer and put them in the oven at 350 f for 10 minutes (no preheat required) and they are perfect. Crispy on the outside and cloud soft on the inside. Lately though the hard rolls have been either too dark, too light too flat and not guaranteed fresh! I hope the problem will be resolved soon and I can purchase the hard rolls again like they used to be.
The hard rolls offer a pleasing taste and texture, making them an enjoyable choice for those seeking a quality bread product. It is important to note that these hard rolls do not remain fresh for an extended period. In my experience, they began to develop mold after just three days, which resulted in the need to discard half of the bag.
If you expecting a NY style hard roll, these are not that. They are more of an American bread texture and taste with a mild crust. They actually make a great upscale hamburger bun but fall short if you are expecting real hard roll taste and texture.
I like these rolls but you have to use them fast. Any rolls or bread I buy from Walmart bakery molds in a couple days no matter how you store it. I just bought a bag of rolls and had to throw them away because of mold. I'd only had them for 2 days. That's 4 dollars down the drain.
It seems that I am always getting bread that is 2 or 3 days old. That's very aggravating and I don't understand why they don't look for the most fresh product for the customers. The sandwich meat is always sliced too thick. Currently thinking of switching to Kroger because this has been a constant problem. I almost always have some sort of return because the shoppers are not paying attention to quality and dates on items.
I was very disappointed in these. She did not appear to have risen properly. They were very tough. I've ordered these in the past and they were much larger well texture, almost rainy, and very unhappy with him. I will not order them again now because of this order actually come into the store and see that there properly written and cooked. i've included a few pictures. The ones with the egg “grade A Large” are for size reference.
This package of guaranteed fresh rolls had a packed on 4/26/26 date Best By 4/29/26 date today is Saturday, May 2 by my addition that seven days past the expiration date and not acceptable that you didn’t take it off the shelf and the picker didn’t read the label when putting it in my cart for delivery
I received them OPENED! When I picked the grocery bag, many of them fell on the ground, the rest of them were spilled inside the grocery bag. That's disgusting! Shame on the person that did this to me!At least I got refunded. But Walmart needs to train their employees better. I also noticed the huge difference in quality of the service depending when I order a delivery. In the middle of the week morning deliveries are much better and professional. The worst of the worst are the weekend deliveries.
