I am very picky about my potato salad, and prefer to make my own instead of buying it pre-made because this store made potato salads usually are a tasteless mess. This deviled egg variety is the first store made potato salad that I actually really like! I still prefer to doctor it up with some chopped celery and a couple of other things, but even without that, I still wouldn't mind serving it to friends or family. very pleased!
Walmart's Deviled Egg Potato Salad is my new favorite store bought side dish when I don't have time to make one! The taste and texture is very close to my recipe and my family approves as well. It's also nice to have some on hand to add a quick addition to your lunch or dinner. Great side to have with sandwiches or a bbq dinner. I wouldn't hesitate to bring it to family and friends get togethers. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
I love this potato salad. it has the definite taste and reminders of deviled eggs and the yummy creaminess of potato salad. I really love the egg pieces, I don't know why. the texture of the potatoes is just about perfect. I eat about 1/4c as a carb for dinner a couple times a week and this stays fresh well. it doesn't get soggy or mushy and it's fresh to the last bite
The family like the favor and the main ingredients are the Freshness of the Eggs. 2 The chop up pickles and peppers in it are good 3.The flavors comes out taster when it warmed. 4.I like some Hidden Valley Ranch dressing with a lilttle sweet Maple flavoring...Oooh so good.
As a Southern Boy, I have fond memories of my family gatherings which was the only place we could find my Aunt's addictive Deviled Eggs. I previously preferred Mustard Style Potato Salad and tried this Deviled Egg Style on a whim when I noticed it in the Deli section. I was immediately won over and enjoyed both the quality %26 flavor and the memories that pairing it as a side dish always brings back! Embarrassingly, I must admit that the Deviled Egg Style Potato Salad has forced me to adjust my regular shopping routine to arrive earlier because it is usually sold out later in the day and that is a disappointing way to begin my shopping experience!
Nice size and properly cooked potatoes along with that deviled egg flavor we all enjoy at family picnics and Church gatherings. It provides a convenient way to get a delicious dish without having to spend hours preparing it yourself.
During the preperation stage there were a blob of red substance in the middle (half way below, right dead center) where you could not see it from any direction when the container was full, i vould not make out what this substance was even with a magnafying glass, so i threw away the potatoe salad.
I guess it all depends on what you like, not what I like. Everyone has their favorite potato salads. My problem is not so much the taste but texture. Some potatos are a tad hard, not fully cooked and while one tater will be soft and perfect for the salad, in the same spoonful is a tater that is tougher and could use maybe 3-5 minutes more of cooking whne they make it. I like the selection and I do like the flavor.
I love the chocolate but the vanilla I am NOT fond of at all! Vanilla is too sweet and flavor is "off". I accidentally got the vanilla when it was misplaced on the shelf. I use these if my sugars drop too much at night. Works well for me without running my sugars up to high. Bottles are easy to carry with me and store in my space. They are better cold than room temp. Price is reasonable. Others are way over priced and out of my budget.
This potato salad is mostly made up of mashed potatoes with a few chunks of potato. This salad is very sweet. Sweet is the dominant flavor instead of a deviled egg with pickles balanced flavors. I have purchased this salad last year and it is definitely very different in quality. I will NOT be purchasing this proct again.
