Freshness Guaranteed Pumpernickel Rye Sandwich Bread, 17 oz

I've never really been a fan of brown breads, but this one smelled so good in the store I had to try it. Every time you open the bag, it’s super appetizing. The slices are just the right size for cheese and deli meats. The texture is soft—firmer than white bread but not as firm as French. It toasts up beautifully, and I’ve made some really satisfying grilled cheese sandwiches with it. Goes great with Gouda and mozzarella. I’ll definitely be buying it again.

As a child we grew up eating a lot of rye bread from a neighborhood bakery. This bread is very close to the rye bread we got as children. It makes excellent Rueben sandwiches and is perfect for polish sausage sandwiches too. My Mom always gave us toasted rye bread and peanut butter sandwiches for lunch and I still love them 70 years later.

This pumpernickel/rye bread is fantastic. It’s hard to get a good pumpernickel bread. This one fits the bill. Found in the bakery section makes it easily found. The taste and texture is amazing.

I love this bakery pumpernickel bread so much! I started getting it a few months ago ago and I’m hooked! The sprinkle of sesame seeds make the crust crunchy and nutty! I hope Walmart continues to carry it all year round! And the price and quality of the bread is amazing!

Just want to smell it like I might a great wine! Half of the love of this loaf is smelling it, it's like being in a Russian deli! It's perfect for Reubens or pastrami or chicken salad, but it's also great to just toast and eat with butter or an herbed cream cheese. Worth the extra money over the national brands.

I thought ordering would be more difficult! I appreciated the order being left at my door! I had to step out for a meeting and returned to find everything waiting for me. I don't usually have to do that, but it was fine! Good think I didn't have ice cream.......!

This pumpernickel bread is my most favorite, especially to get from Walmart While perfectly sliced, thick, but not too thick and always fresh /always soft. If you toast it- wind up with crunchy on the outside soft when you bite it! all that's missing is some salted butter. Can you have yourself the perfect dessert!! for all ages😆☺️

This was good for a lighter (colored) pumpernickel rye bread. I do prefer a darker and denser loaf, but you take what you can get. Flavor was good, was pleased there wasnt a heavy caraway flavor, that was just right. I do recommend this if you prefer a lighter and less dense bread, but personally I prefer a darker loaf.

I absolutely LOVE this bread. It’s soft, slightly chewy, and toasts up well while staying a little bit chewy after toasting. It’s the best tasting bakery bread I’ve bought so far. My only qualm with it is that if I don’t eat the whole loaf within a few days, or don’t keep it in the fridge, it starts to go moldy. Generally I have about 4 days to eat it before it does develop mold (which is normal for fresh baked bread) and since it’s a large loaf, I take it out of the bag and I divide it into 3 piles. I’ll have about 4-5 slices that go in the freezer, 4-5 slices that go in the fridge, and about 3-4 slices that I keep out on the counter for toast or sandwiches for work. So good!

You need to eat this bread quickly. If you just sit it on the counter and forget about it mold will develop. I finally started freezing half as soon as it arrived. Toasting this bread until it falls apart when you bite it my favorite. PB%26J, GARLIC BUTTER SPREAD, garden vegetables in cream cheese are my favorites.
