Super easy to make a meal during a busy week. I microwaved it with some bbq sauce for tacos and it was actually delicious. Some reviews here said it was very fatty but I don't think that's true at all. I'll get 5 meals out of this for $9. The image shows exactly 85g worth of protein, the serving size.
I buy this to make my pork barbecue recipe. It is just the right amount for me. It adapts well to add whatever seasoning you want. This saves me from buying a pork roast, cooking it, and shredding it. Fantastic time and trouble savor. I have not tried it by itself so I cannot address the taste on it's own.
Their chicken is gross bc the season is 🤢 like they took their not sold baked chicken and just added a really bad season pack to it. But this…the pork is really really good. I have SLE lupus and try to stay away from sodium based foods. 90% of my food I cook has no salt. Do, I happened upon this and saw the pic with no seasoning. Which is good for my diet; and good for a base to make whatever u want with pulled pork. Just tastes like they took pork roast and roasted it. No way it was cooked down in a pot bc it's dry. But…perfect for me. It has garlic pieces which says it was stuffed with it. U can tell by look and taste. What I do with it is simple; put in skillet with a little water bc it is dry, and use an onion gravy pack and mix it up for sloppy pulled pork po boy. I like onion and garlic power to taste. If u want to add another seasoning; u can add a yum yum get u sum bc it's so fiya. But it already has the protein from meat causing inflammation and sodium from the gravy mix, and yeast from bread…so im going to already feel it the next day. But it's worth it when I do eat meat. Like a sub roll, or Texas toast bread. Dint get grossed out, but I also like mayo on this sandwich. Sloppier, the better 😆 Hopefully my review helps if u are on the fence. I just can't find it I my walk mart for months now 😭 just don't eat the chicken. U will thank me later lol
This pulled chicken is used from the rotisserie chickens that aren't sold when they're fresh. I wouldn't ordinarily care and it doesn't bother me that this avoids wasting food, but in my local store the chickens tend to be a bit over cooked even when they're fresh come out immediately after preparation. Since this is left over chicken that was dry under the nest of conditions, these get a hard pass from me. Maybe your local store does a better job in the deli. Even if that's the case, the markup on the pulled chicken from leftover rotisserie is extremely high for repurposed chicken.
I didnt approve this substitution and it cost twice as much for half the size of what i ordered!! I kept the meat and no one will eat it because its absolutely inedible and disgusting.. need better communication with shoppers within the store! SO DISAPPOINTING WALMART!!!!!
it tasted very weird almost like it was bad. it was filled with fatty parts and had cartlidge which i dont even know how pulled pork has cartlidge. all in all it was a waste of money, i tried tobfeedbitbtobky dog but she didnt want it and i had a stomach issue about 2 days later
Hands DOWN the worst pulled pork I've ever had. Please don't get this. Any of the cheap premixed stuff is better. It was gross chunks of light and dark pork that you literally couldn't even pull apart of chew and fat and gristle. How are they selling this? Never again Walmart!! Even covered in Bbq sauce it's disgusting.
I knew their chicken was pure gristle, so I decided to take a chance on their pork, as that generally has less gristle, but nope, apparently they found the one pig that was pure gristle. I presume the pork is mechanically separated, but what kind of machine is so inconsistent? About a third of it has been reduced to powder, then there's these six inch long whole chunks that are impossible to chew.
I bought pulled Pork MEAT and not a Bucket of Pork Fat. If i wanted Pork Fat, i would have bought Pork Fat. And the part that was Meat, did taste that great either. Well Lesson learned, buy again -- No way
I ordered this July 13. When I went to go use it, the expiration date was June 5. That shouldn't have been on the shelf. Shoppers should also check expiration dates!
