I haven't had dessert shells or “strawberry cups” as we used to call them since I was a child. I never liked them. My husband asked me to order them. They were delicious and tasted like little individual bakery cakes!! I bought several more for my freezer !!
Always fresh, soft, and moist. These are the perfect size for various desserts or to just eat plain as is. I also put a layer of frosting and sprinkles on each of these and pass out to children at parties, they are less messier than cake and cupcakes and the kiddos love them!!! I do the same at the large get-together over the holidays and it really saves time!!!
These are perfect little shells to make strawberry shortcake the old school way. They remind me of growing up and making them with my mom. Sweet enough to contrast with the tartness and flavor of the strawberries. Great taste, perfect shells to put strawberries in and then top with whipped cream.
these were same ones Iv had many times over the years if used store bought. this batch seemed fairly dried out and didn't have the sweetness of angel food cakes as usual as enjoy one by self out of package of fresh and moist. will buy again as tasted great as a shortcake dessert always great treat when strawberries come on for season.
An absolute must this time of year. Strawberries are always on sale somewhere this time of year and with a scoop of whipped topping this makes a perfect strawberry shortcake These dessert cups are delicious however they don't hold up in the freezer.
I was delighted to find these dessert shells, especially since we're having another scorcher of a summer when I crave a nice, cool, satisfying strawberry shortcake that takes me back to a simpler time. These shells are just the right size to hold a scoopful of strawberries (frozen or fresh) topped by a generous dollop of whipped cream. You can also use them with other fruits and a variety of ice cream flavors. Not overly sweet to complement whatever topping you choose.
Freshness Guaranteed Vanilla Dessert Shells are comfort food for me. I grew up eating these little cakes covered with strawberry slices soaked in a bit of sugar until they created their own juice. In the photograph below I used Great Value frozen blueberries with a bit of honey and a dollop of cottage cheese. A clean ingredient version of this little cake would make it even better. It makes dessert a bit fancy and it's delicious!
We topped these with canned mandarin oranges and cool whip. It was delicious. These have a great texture and taste. I do find them to be overpriced though. They're just mini vanilla cakes. They shouldn't cost this much. Cake mix is like $1 and makes far more than this. I guess you're paying for convenience, but convenience still shouldn't cost this much.
These are smaller than I remembered from years ago. The taste and texture is more like Tw*nkies, which I couldn't avoid remembering when they didn't mold within a week after opening their package. I used them with sugar-free puddings and with berries an light toppings to create predictable carb deserts for myself.
First of all I do not recommend this product the review button would only let me select recommend or none at all. Received 4 packages July 3 for 4th of July strawberry shortcake one expired that day. ALL WERE MOLDY even the freshest one not sure if it is an ingredient or storage problem.
