There is another option with more strips that costs less. I wish I didn't have to purchase this item.
I have a 5 month old & these strips came just in time for my girls night! It gives me peace of mind - my only concern is after the 3 minutes sometimes the strip does turn blue.. can that be a false positive? Or did the test take more time to detect the alcohol
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These alcohol test strips for breast milk are completely worth it. If I go out with the girls or have a glass of wine with dinner, I can have peace of mind when I am about to breast feed my baby. Just dip the strip into milk & within two min it lets me know if I need to pump & dump or if it's ok to feed my little one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really wondering how I would write a review for this item. I actually drink a beer a night to help with my supply. I had done so much research prior to giving beer a try because as every mom, was a little cautious. I wanted to try these test strips. So I drank my one beer and immediately tried one. Then tested a second beer and that's when it showed up on a test. Was quite interesting. Then I timed an hour to go by and it had gone away. Was actually a very interesting thing to see.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to test to see if it actually worked before we went to a up coming wedding, so fed my daughter and then pumped and put away. Later that night I had a glass of wine, I waited an hour and tested and got a very faint blue mark, which was great. I did it again after two hours and it was actually dark blue and this was after just one glass of wine which I thought was great. I'm no a big drinker so the once in a blue mom I would decide to have a glass of wine I am now able to make sure my milk is alcohol free. But just make sure you wait to test.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this Breast milk Alcohol test for my daughter to use after drinking some wine. The results came quickly. I was surprised because I had no idea they made test like this. My daughter has plans to buy another box after the one I brought is gone
I wasn't sure if these were working or not. I drank 1 glass of wine and tested myself (30 mins later) and it was white. So I waited about an hour 1/2 and tested myself again and it was still white. So I poured two drops of wine in my breastmilk and dipped it. The test turned blue almost immediately. You would have to drink lots and lots or be very low body weight/fat for you to have a super high BAC. These work but the alcohol you consume can be so minimal that it won't pop up on a strip. If you're uneasy just wait 2 hours and you're good per my pediatrician. Don't doubt the strips, they work! I know it can be confusing.
How hard is it to just include the instructions in or on the box? The QR code nonsense was completely unnecessary for this product.
I don't know if they should trust. Take 2 glasses of wine (300ml) the suggested waiting time for each glass is 3 hours. However, I did the test 10 hours later and this one at 2 minutes was white but at 30 minutes it turned blue. Which made me doubt if I really did well to offer milk to my baby.
Tests did not work I've drank before and tested my milk a while after and it came back white as pearl so I gave my baby the milk but the next time I drank I tested right after and it still white after multiple , it just frustrating to question it the milk I have given my baby was contaminated not I can't even have a glass of wine at all scared I'm going to hurt baby
