Frigidaire 10,000 BTU 450 Sq. Ft. Casement Window Air Conditioner with Remote, White, FFRS1022RE

The AC unit is terrific. The process of purchase on line was great. The use of Angi's list to install the unit was a failure. The pro arrived and said they did not know how to do it. So, I installed it myself two days later and it took me about 2.5 hours. I suspect the Angi pro could have done it in an hour. I have asked to get the installation charge returned to me and they said it would take from 5-10 business days.

We are so happy to have discovered this air conditioner. After struggling last summer with a portable air conditioner that we would have to take from living room to bedroom (and back) daily it was nice to find something that would work in our windows. It is so quiet yet so powerful.

Quite good looking and easy to install. However i suggest another pair of hands to place in window the unit is heavy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our house has only casement (crank out) windows and a couple that slide horizontally (left to right). This unit works perfectly in our sliding window. While a manufacturer installation video would have been helpful, the instructions were adequate. Focus on the support bar, then attaching the frame to the unit, then securing in the window. I was able to use a box cutter for the fill piece, no saw necessary. Cools the room well, I can now cook and eat in my kitchen this summer.

I owned an older model ( 10 years old) that has kept my space cool during heat waves, I purchased this unit and was worried about it being banged up and dented however this was NOT the case it shipped and was delivered in perfect condition, this unit is quieter than my old unit and works really well. honestly I would have purchased it at the new higher price because its that good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are very pleased with our new window ac for our older casement window. It runs fairly quiet and cools our 400 sq ft bedroom very well. The included window kit was a good idea and helped us to easily finish our install without having to go to the store to buy anything else. We've bought similar capacity stand alone portable room ac but they don't deliver the cooling this does. Very happy and staying comfortable day and night.

The air conditioner is great. Energy efficient and cooled the Master bedroom very fast. The control options offered allows for a wide variety of settings to suit the operator and can be done through the remote control. However, I paid extra at the time of purchase to have it installed and was greatly disappointed in Angi's (aka Home Advisor) who handled my pre-purchased installation request through Walmart. I had hoped it would be installed before a heat advisory was supposed to hit. Unfortunately, the installation was re-scheduled 4 times times and the last appointment would have been AFTER the heat advisory ended. Luckily, someone came and installed it. the 2nd day of the 6 day advisory warning. Of note, it is the only source of cooling in my house.

I have only used this ac unit for two summers. I tried to use it for my third summer and the air compressor is already not working properly. Previously I had a unit that lasted over 15 years. This one didn't make it into its third year. Not good quality.

AC arrived damaged. Coils were all smashed in like it had been knocked and bounced around during shipping. Very disappointed since I can't find a sliding window unit in stores near me. After reading several other window unit AC reviews, receipt of damaged units upon arrival seems to be a common theme. You'd think the manufacturer would figure out better packaging and/or shipping methods considering all the returns they get. It was a major pain getting that heavy AC back in the box and dropped off at Fed Ex.
