FRIGIDAIRE 1/2 HP Corded Garbage Disposer (FF05DISPC1)

Unit was easy to install. I like that the power cord was included and already connected--some other brands require you to buy a power cord separately (yes, you Incinerator!). Reasonably quiet (as long as the splash guard is installed). So powerful you can't really tell when it is grinding up something "hard". Just does what it is supposed to do! The body of the unit is slim, but tall--takes up more space under the sink than the disposer it replaced. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. And, because of the motor, it is heavy. Recommend having a second person help with installation.

This slim design disposed allows more space underneath the sink. Its motor only draws 4.5 A and thats amazing for a 1/2 hp motor. Very efficient.

love that that rubber catch flaps are tight enough to catch tiny spoons so they dont get deformed and damsge the disposal

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The disposer is quite and does a good job grinding and disposing food. The problem is the flanged rubber gasket between your sink and the working parts of the disposer. It holds the water in my sink. I need to actually push down on the rubber part to get the water down. It is almost as though there is air trapped preventing water from draining into the disposer. My sink will fill with and inch or two of water and slowly drain. If their water is greasy, then you have a mess in your sink. It would seem an easy fix with an improved drain spash guard.

Made loud sound when working. Item received cracked - had to get another brand installed.
