This little ice maker is a game-changer! It cranks out ice fast, doesn't hog counter space, and is perfect for RV life. In just a couple of hours, I can fill a freezer bag and have enough ice for several days. Reliable, compact, and works flawlessly—couldn't ask for more.
Great 'little' icemaker for the price. Really cranks out the ice cubes. They're small but after they're in liquid they're almost like crushed ice. It really does make a small batch of cubes every 8 minutes if the bin is empty. Hint: To keep it making ice make sure the eye on the left inside of the lid isn't blocked by cubes. I wouldn't recommend this for more than one or 2 people. I've not had this long but so far so good. Frigidaire should redesign this with a bigger fill basket, an easier to see fill line, & a hook to hang the scoop on the side of the unit. Much quieter than the Opal icemaker & takes up much less room on the counter.
This little guy works pretty well!! It is easy to set up and works pretty quickly! My only complaint is that the ice is pretty wet when it first is made so when I put it in my freezer it freezes together! It is an awesome tool to keep backup ice for high use periods without being expensive or taking up a lot of space.
Works great!! Makes Ice fast. The only draw back but should be expected. It makes wet Ice so if you try to save it and put it in the freezer. It will freeze together. It you store in a gallon zip lock bag, you can break it up very easily. Very glad I bought it.
In one day, it makes enough ice to last us for a week. You do need to let it dump the first few loads back into the tank to start out to cool it down and make nicer bigger "cubes." Then, bag it for the freezer whenever the basket is full. We had an almost identical one that died after two years; otherwise, I would give it a 5. Also, we bought the extended warranty this time and will see how it goes.
This isn't going to produce ice for a party. If you try to bag the ice and place it in the freezer, it freezes as a block since the ice is soft. If you take care of it by using filtered water and cleaning it, the units I've purchased in the past last about a year~.
It was a good try. I only used filtered water to ensure they would taste good. Asked her about two weeks I started tasting this metal flavor and nothing I did would change that. Then, after closer inspection, I see that there is metal shavings in my ice. It shuts off early and marks itself as full, even though there's one tall skinny tower of ice cubes that are covering the light beam, and the rest of the bin is empty. I tried tilting it at an angle to help the ice fall into the basket properly and that didn't help. . It's also very noisy. It tries to be a good icemaker, but there's these three obstacles instead of overcome first
Ice is great - for a short while. Machine is not cold enough to keep ice from melting, so it becomes one big blob. Might be good for parties or one-off events, but not for daily/ongoing use.
Set it up and plugged it in with water per instructions and ran for 3 mins, Dan inop got hot, noticed fan defective. Very disappointed, does not operate or make ice even after following troubleshooting steps. Returning.
It ok for what for what it is. Ice storage is small. Constantly have to move made ice away from sensor.
