This is my first brand new AC purchase. So far, it has operated as it should. The room does get nice and cool or cold, depending on temperature. Before I purchased this Frigidaire AC, I read the reviews about the econ setting not working as it should. When I got the AC, I saw what those reviewers were talking about; but I soon figured out how the econ setting really works. To all current customers and future customers of this AC, I will say, the econ setting is not faulty and works as intended. The econ setting works with the remote. What you have to do is turn on the AC and press start on the remote sensing option on the remote, so the AC can recognize the remote. After you enabled remote sensing, you should see the remote sensing option on the AC blink green. That means the remote is in sync with the AC, and whatever temp it shows on the remote, the AC will stay on until it reaches the temp you have set on the AC. For instance, if the temp on the remote says 80 degrees, and the temp is set to 72 on the AC, the AC will stay on until the room reaches 72. Once the remote says 72, the AC will turn off. The AC will come on again when the temp on the remote reaches 74-75 degrees. The AC will usually come back on when the temp goes 2-3 degrees above the set temp on the AC. The caveat to this is, you have to start the remote sensing option every time you turn on the AC. Otherwise, the econ setting will not work. With econ setting enabled, the AC will not remember to keep the remote sensing option enabled after you have turned the AC on again. The remote sensing option will only stay on when the AC is on, until you press stop remote sensing on the remote or turn the AC off. When you have the AC set to econ setting and remote sensing is not enabled, the AC will never get to the set temp and turn off, because it does not know how warm the room is by the remote. So, the remote sensing option has to be enabled each time for the econ setting to work properly. Otherwise, you will think the econ setting isn't working properly. That's the way it is by design. Yes, it would be nice if Frigidaire did have the remote sensing option remain enabled each time you turn on the AC as long as the econ setting is enabled.
Nice! Best BTU value for regular household electric.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Frigidaire 15,000 BTU window mounted AC unit is reasonably quiet and cools our whole 1470 square foot house. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. Before I purchased this unit I wasn't sure I could get it installed into my aluminum replacement window but I was able to do it. I tried to closely follow the installation instructions but had to deviate and come up with my own plan steps because the instructions are written for a wooden sash window. When the AC cabinet was fit into my window it fit tight and had no slope for water drainage. I added a 1/2" stool step and mounted the cabinet on it. I adjusted the step and window sash alignment with the cabinet for a downward slope for drainage. I used an additional universal support bracket to support the weight of this 100 pound unit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 14x52 mobile home it is in front window and keeps rear room around 73 with outside temps in 90's and that's on 70 degree setting, also much quieter than I expected for size. I have a 6000 btu in bedroom that I use at night only and have found Frigidaire are less noisy than other brands
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a 12,000BTU Haier. Can't believe how quiet this unit is! It also cools the whole downstairs quickly! In fact, it does such a good job of cooling, I have to turn it off a lot. We made an excellent choice!
The air conditioner works well but it had a dent in it when it arrived.
This makes is my 3rd Frigidaire 15000/ 120V unit. they have installed a cheesy cheap plastic venting system that doesn't have sufficient Omni-directional vent capability's as previous models. The open close plastic indoor%26 outdoor in or out plastic slide is nothing but a very thin piece of plastic that break's easily. When the outdoor vents are closed tightly, you can see daylight and outside air leaking in.. I had to stuff foam into the vents to keep the outside hot air from seeping in. The unit cools well for now. . But the cheaply made plastic grill and vents I don't think will last.
I purchased this unit last week. The unit does not cool or dry the room
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this a month ago and went to put in my window and the fan is rubbing again something when I turn it on. Have been trying to get through to the company as it should be under wArrenty but no one has contacted me. Please call me at 5707642966
It worked amazing the first summer we had it and for about a month this year. Now the compressor won't kick on, it's blowing hot air, and trying to get service under the warranty is nearly impossible. I bought in part for Frigidaire's reputation for standing behing its products. Tremendously disappointed.
