Ice maker in fridge died. Took a chance on this machine to fill in temporarily. Extremely surprised how well it performs. The recovery time is short. We had a small gathering. We did not run out of ice! Just be sure to check water level occasionally.
The best thing I've bought since moving into an apartment! This countertop ice maker is a teeny bit tough to clean, but I think that's the nature of the appliance itself. Otherwise, it works great, makes ice fast, and keeps it cool for a pretty long time once it's been running. I love it, I drink so much more water when I can dump ice in.
I have gone through 2 other ice makers, was about to give up until I saw this one so I decided to give it a chance, best decision ever, it's couldn't be more perfect, I highly recommend it if you're considering one you definitely won't be disappointed
I use copious amounts of ice, I put this upstairs so I don't have to go get ice. I filled in morning, had ice within 8 minutes and had iced drinks continuously all day Sunday with extra left over. I love it and the ice cubes are far superior to what my refrigerator makes.
Works great! I've had it a few months and no problems. I love that it's even slightly insulted where the ice sits, and keeps the ice cold longer. You still need to dump the ice into your freezer at some point, but for parties, I can run this and it stays cold in the container. Not too noisy and looks so cute!
This ice maker works great. Bought it mainly for our camper and it fits perfectly on our counter without taking up the whole counter. Does take a few "tries" (like 2) before being full size ice cubes. I just dump them back into the water to help the water be cold, that works for us. I'm sure if you put colder water, it wouldn't have any "issues".
What i dislike is i didn't get this color I ordered, and wasnt notified of the change, What i like is not having to buy ice .Just add water and you have ice in a matter of minutes. I would have given this 5 stars if this would have been the color that i ordered.
Product works fine, but compared to previous Frigidaire ice makers, this model feels like a step backward. This unit is much noisier than my last one. I expect some clicking and normal operating sounds, but this one sounds like a dying vehicle every time the compressor kicks on. It also lacks an easy way to remove the top panel for cleaning. One of the best features of my previous model was being able to remove the top, thoroughly clean the interior, and reassemble it without any hassle. One other minor issue is that water tends to pool on the bottom-right side of the reservoir return area. If not cleaned regularly, this spot can develop mold fairly quickly, so it's something owners should keep an eye on. Overall, it makes ice as expected, but the increased noise and reduced ease of maintenance make it a downgrade from earlier Frigidaire models.
This countertop ice maker is fine for 1-3 people. The ice isn't quite cold enough so it gets wet and melts in the basket if it sits for too long, and the basket isn't very big. It is also quite noisy, and I am worried about the cost of running it. that being said, I only paid like fifty-eight bucks for it so to me, it's worth the price. I would not pay the 100 bucks that the non-red models were priced at. I work from home and so I use it all day, so it's been working for me.
It lasted 5 months. Turned it on, there was an odd smell, then oil floating on the water. The 1 year warranty requires sending an email to an address to get a physical address in order to mail back this 20lb object and they will either repair it or send another one. I haven't yet sent the email but I am anticipating a physical address that is difficult to impossible to send to without spending what we originally spent.
