Competent

steven February 16, 2021

Makes a bar of 24 ice cubes in the shape of a classic chocolate bar in 12 minutes for me. Recommend wiping down the interior with a damp paper towel before 1st use as there were a few spots of what appear to be glue residue. Very quiet operation other than when ice drops into the ice bin. Very pleased with purchase.

Its a great machine. A little big to keep on the counter. But I live the square, clear ice cubes. They come out in s block, which I put in my freezer ice container. Let them freeze a bit then take a mallet to them and gently break them up into cubes. The ice does not melt and you can fill up the basket and theyll retain their shape. Short of an automatic ice make in fridge this is a good alternative.

Clear Ice is the Best

thread September 22, 2025

this produces clear ice. ice cubes small but com out as a sheet 4 x 7 x1 inche with indentions to break them in the size you want. I'll never buy another ice machine that doesn't make clear. They seem to last longer than the bullet style other machines make that look cloudy/Clear Ice is frosty.

Love this Ice Maker!!

Vincent September 13, 2020

I am truly an ice snob and have been looking for an ice maker that makes restaurant quality ice which won't cost me an arm and a leg. Have had this Ice Maker for about a month now and I must say that I love it. Now it does make clear ice but that greatly depends on your water if you use tap water the ice won't be as clear as if you used bottled water. It does make alot of ice and the only issue is that you have to break it up when it falls which is not a big deal either. The size is not bad either about the size of an Airfryer, so you can put it on your counter. When cleaning it when your done the smaller your hands the better cause it is a little tight in there. Overall I really do love this ice maker and would highly recommend it if you are one of those people like me who hate freezer ice and want somthing better then you cant go wrong with this bad boy.

Made first ice in 30 minutes

Ronda April 1, 2020

Looks great, I purchased stainless steel. Started making ice right away. First ice was ready in 30 minutes. I first started with the largest cubes because I didn’t think I would like small ones. They were plenty big and hard to break up, so I decreased size a day later and much easier to break up. Makes ice, plenty of ice. A little louder than I expected, but I’m getting used to it now.

LOVE this work horse of an ice maker!

Tbabylee August 7, 2020

We LOVED this ice maker! We used it nearly every day for about eight hours a day and it finally stopped working a little over a year after we got it. For what we paid, we're happy with how long it lasted and how much money it saved us over buying bagged ice. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because it's fairly difficult to clean. It would get mineral deposits (normal, even when using distilled/filtered water) that were really hard to remove and it's quite heavy, so deep cleanings could take two people up to two hours. That said, this appliance was a work horse and sometimes we had to turn it off because it was making too much ice! Since it died, we just ordered a replacement and are eagerly awaiting its arrival this week!

Works well to fill up the freezer

tblah May 24, 2021

Works as advertised, but note that countertop units (all brands/models) are not a "set it and forget it" machine. If you want an ice maker that has on demand ice sitting in it ready for you 24/7 (i.e. equivalent of a freezer ice machine), these units are not a great option because they a) require constant attention (filling water, emptying ice bin) and b) are not cold/insulated enough in the bin to keep the ice from melting throughout the day. The unit does work perfectly though to fill up an existing freezer, or to supplement an existing automatic ice maker, or during parties/high demand periods whereby the ice will be used before it melts in the bin (note it takes hours to melt, so the ice remains perfectly usable as long as you either use it, or empty the bin in a reasonable time). The machine makes clear, square(ish) ice the size of a quarter (see pics). It does not make perfect, evenly sides squares, it makes parallelograms with a dimple on 1 side (dimple visible in pics). The timer(cube size) button does not change the cube dimensions, it simply determines how full or empty that dimple is when the ice ejects by shortening or lengthening how long the water runs over / fills in the grid. The machine is not noisy, but you can hear the fan in a quiet room. If a TV is on, you won't notice the machine at all (except when the ice ejects into the bin). Some reviews note a problem with the ice sticking and not ejecting into the bin. I've yet to encounter this issue. My guess is they did not level their unit. it is important to make sure the unit is level during use as the design uses gravity to fill the cubes AND to eject. If the unit is not level, the water will not fill the grid evenly, some cubes will be thicker than others, or worse, if the unit is tilted backwards, the angle won't be enough for the ice to fall out during thaw/eject cycle. Simply make sure you put it on a level surface and that the water is running over each column of cubes evenly and you won't have stuck ice. I prefer the -6 (fastest) setting as the ice is easy to break up and is more chewable, have had zero issues with the unit so far, and would recommend for persons who a) have no (or a broken) freezer ice maker, need to supplement an existing freezer unit, or have frequent need of on demand ice during parties/events.

Worked ok for a month...

KansasWriter December 16, 2025

Started up great, it says clear ice, but mehhh, not totally clear but passable. It will keep a little while in the machine, but melty. So we put it in the house freezer ice maker after harvesting. BUT, today is Dec 17....water pump in it is started making a terrible noise, super loud, grinding a few days ago. It still makes ice, but struggles. had to turn it off. So we got one month out of $200 ice machine that is currently limping along. Not sure what the problem is. Cleaned it out very well, still makes that awful noise, sometimes intermittant, sometimes until it is satisfied with the ice. Reduced ice to -2 size so it doesn't have to keep pumping water.

PETER August 6, 2025

the ice maker worked quite well for about 4 days. Then the water pump started making a very loud squealing noise intermittently %26 has just gotten worse. I called Frigidaire but they said it was too soon for them and I should contact Walmart. The website return policy is set up for items that were damaged in shipping or you don't like. Since it was working adequately I recycled the box and packaging materials. Walmart's return instructions have you take it to FedEx in the box for return but I don't have the box and have been unable to contact Walmart for a solution.
