Our basement's normal humidity level runs around 75% or so. Our previous dehumidifier was unable to bring it down to even a 55% level but this Frigidaire dehumidifier brings it down to a consistent 45% and it does so quietly. Bonus points for the built-in pump that lets me keep the dehumidifier on the basement floor instead of on an elevated stand to enable drainage to the basement sump pit.
So far so good. It worked right away. Its placed in the basement and I empty bucket once or twice a day. Only some minor comments as I am 77 yrs old. Display lights could be larger. Specifically bucket full light so it can be seen more clearly from a distance. Full bucket is a bit heavier to carry than anticipated. I'm considering draining continuously. Bottom line is it works well. Online reviews were good and helpful. I'm glad I bought it.
Great ordering through Walmart. It arrived earlier than promised. The Frigidaire has great reviews. and after a week it is performing well. Very quiet. I thought maybe just the fan and not the compressor was running at first because it was so quiet, but it was all fine. I have not yet tried the pump. I stayed away from some other brands because of bad reviews on the pump. Not able to give feedback on the pump yet.
So far, this has been a great product, and we haven't had any problems. It has helped so much with taking extra moisture out of the air in our basement. We've noticed that damp smell is already completely gone! We are very happy with the hose, which we have put right into a floor drain by the water heater. That way, we never have to empty the reservoir. This is a great product!!
It's been working great! I'm shocked how much water it is pulling out of my basement. I have to dump out the water twice a day. It has a function that allows you to see what the current humidity level is. Mine was much higher than i thought when I started using it. I would definitely recommend this unit.
Ive had my new dehumidifier for a few weeks but so far so good. Start with negatives: Id say that I was reluctant to make this purchase because Fridigaire (and all the other companies) make these products in China. The product was not inexpensive but the plastics are extremely frail and I could see that it would not be difficult to snap a piece of cheapie plastic off without much effort. If youre going to make the product in China, then at least upgrade the products exterior components... or better, start producing them in the USA. I also, for fun, searched for a simple part...and I can see already, that if anything DOES break, this product is not made to be repaired... if it is not able to be repaired easily, where is a cool exchange program by Frigidaire to offset the very obvious planned obsolescence of this product? Postives Surprisingly quiet and it PULLS tons of moisture from the room. I love the humidity sensor. I have not tried the hose draining features yet because I wanted to see how much water it was removing. Thatll be my next discovery.
So far I've only used the dehumidifier less than a week. It is very quiet and efficient. It is a lot quieter than the old (15 year ) humidifier that I had. Has a numeric humidity setting that seems to work pretty well. Only issue is it seems to throw off a lot of heat, raising the basement temperature from 68 dF @ 60% humidity to 72 dF @ 51% humidity. Have not used the pump feature yet.
Worked well reducing humidity. However we wanted to use it in a living area, and the fan on high makes a lot of noise. It also heats up the room. It blows hot air out it's exhaust. My wife and I found that we got headaches when we were in the room with it. When we left the room headache went away.
I've got the same EC error code detailed below by many others. It's now garbage. Given this often happens within 2-4 years post purchase, the well above industry rate that it happens to this product, and that Frigidaire has knowingly changed and downgraded the warranty from 5 years to 1year around the time this launched - I'd suggest some below board operating practices are at play.
The coils in my 4 year old Frigidaire dehumidifier frosted up due to loss of refrigerant from a leak. I have to replace it as it is not repairable and I will not buy another Frigidaire. My advice is to buy the cheapest dehumidifier you can find as they are not reliable and you will be replacing it in under 5 years. It seems they are good at providing features but incapable of providing reliability.
